"X-Men 4" Still in the Works

Empire magazine caught up with producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who revealed that there are still plans for a fourth "X-Men" film that will pick up after the events in "X-Men: The Last Stand."

According to Donner, there is already a story in place. "We took the treatment to Fox and they love it," she said, adding: "And 'X4' leads into 'X5.'"

Donner has previously mentioned that she would love to have Bryan Singer return to the franchise. He was originally in talks to direct "X-Men: First Class," but ended up only producing. She may now be speaking with Singer for "X-Men 4." Stay tuned.

Yeah, but ok, yeah, they killed all the cool mutants save Wolverine and sure they could dredge up some other characters, but really, no Professor X?

Yeah, thanks to that Last Stand script they pretty much destroyed the canonical cast, so some sequels sounds like a very bad idea, and I bet they're waiting to see how well First Class does on the non-main cast before they try with X-Men 4.

@mink

Don't forget the post-credits scene of ''Last Stand''

xavie is still alive yes and we never saw cyclops actually dying.i would like to see an x4 from singer, the good singer the guy that did x2,usual suspects and art pupil not the guy who did gayman returns.maybe this will happen because i dont see wolverine in japan happening

I don't think Ian can come back for another film, much two or three more, no matter how much Magneto the man might think he has left in his tired old bones.

And IIRC, Xavier's mind is in a young boy or something like that, but well, I don't think that makes a good setup for the fourth film, but hey, maybe the treatment rocks. Haven't seen it...

no matter how much we say sh*t about it, Fox is gonna wanna hurry it up and push for a 2012 time frame probably 3D, because Nolan's Shiny Turds Batman and Superman have their super budget flicks in the same year to profit. Fox being greedy will want some of that profit. End of story.

Note to Ratner :

Don't bother waiting by the Bluberry.

It won't ring.

Yeah, whatever. They can make it up to X10 for all I care. It'll still suck.

Professor X is supposed to lose his body. In the comics he's cloned a new body by the Shi'ar, but I have a feeling the movie will have Mr. Sinister building his clone body.

With the state that X3 left things in and a new plan for a First Class franchise... they could turn the future films into Days of Future Past and have the time travelling characters bouncing between the past and future X-teams to stop mutant genocide.

She may not be speaking with Singer now. She already did in an interview even before Vaughn took over First Class. They arranged exactly what the old news is talking about. Google it. ;)

Cool bring on number 4 and 5 the 1st one was good the 2nd one was awesome and the 3rd was ok not that bad like a lot of people say it was entertaining if angel wasn't in it and cyclops didn't get killed off it would have been awesome.
Bunny X writes:

Sure because X-3 was so right, let's go to 4 and 5. For sh*t's sake, let it die.

So it's just me that thinks the first two x-men films sucked balls (apart from the nightcrawler scene in x-men 2) and the third one set them straight. Quit balling over Xavier's death like he never died in the comics.
