"The Bourne Legacy" Lead Down to Six Actors

Posted: March 25th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"The Bourne Legacy" Lead Down to Six ActorsSubmit Comment
Universal Pictures is in the middle of casting the lead in "The Bourne Legacy," which is a Tony Gilroy-directed spin-off that will focus on another assassin and not Jason Bourne.

The studio has been considering a large number of your actors, but Deadline is now reporting that the list has been narrowed to just a few names.

Joel Edgerton (The Thing), Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!), Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy) and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) are all set to test for the role next month. Meanwhile, other actors like Shia LaBeouf and Taylor Kitsch (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) are also being considered, but do not have to test.

And it looks like Jake Gyllenhaal is no longer being considered, despite the actor expressing interest in the role. "That would be amazing if that were true, but it's unfortunately not," he recently told Extra.

Joel Edgerton seems rough enough to be believable as an assassin.

But I really dislike the name, 'The Bourne Legacy'. It's just a shamefull way to make people see the movie.

- Cool, a new Bourne-movie.
- No, it's just a movie that takes place in the Bourne-canon. Bourne will not be featured at all. But don't worry, it'll be exactly as a Bourne-film.
- So, why call it 'The Bourne Legacy'?
- Because.

Hopefully Joel Edgerton gets the role. I hope the company will have faith in the man and not hire some famous talentess hack to take the role

Casting Hedlund would be worse than casting Channing Tatum. Hedlund is the worst actor in Hollywood!

I'm amazed that Universal haven't just gone a head with a Bourne 4 instead of this rip off sh*t.

What ever problems there are getting in the way of that, i'm sure a few extra (million) dollars will sort those out and get that back on track.

I'm so sick of hearing about reboots. Check out this site I found recently. This should be the next big thing with T-formers ending this summer.

"The Bourne Legacy" Lead Down to Six Actors

Actors?? That's a bit of a push calling them actors.

"The ancient Greek word for an "actor," ὑποκριτής (hypokrites), means literally "one who interprets";[2] in this sense, an actor is one who interprets a dramatic character or personality."

These guys couldn't interpret there way out of a wet paper bag. There's only a few real actors left out there and i don't see any in this headline. Gary Oldman on the other hand... now that's the sh*t!

Trailer- You know it, I re-watched that film the other day didn't realise Phil Mitchell is in it and a few other TV actors that I recognised.

Universal must really, really need another Bourne fim, even if they have to make one without lead man Damon, and even if they have mislead people in order to sell tickets. They must be the Nic Cage of film studios.

I also love the fact that Shia doesn't have to test for the role, even though he stinks in every thing he does. Who the hell is this kid sucking off to get where he is, because it isn't on the strength of the man's performances, or, the bar is so low that you'd have to really suck at acting in order to not become somewhat successful these days.

Cinema-

Yep The Firm was a great TV Movie with a lot of faces from TV in there even benny from grange hill, lol

I didn't mind last years Nick Loves take on The Firm either he totally nailed the 80's vibe in that movie and put his own spin on the original film's story.

Don't know if you have ever seen any of the other Screen 2 (BBC's answer to Channel 4 films) films he made Honest, Decent and True with Richard E Grant and Adrian Edmondson was good well worth checking out if you ever come across it.

I hope that Shia gets the part because he's one hemmroid or a herpe on someones d*ck that just won't go away. He's made in hollywood you guys and he'll be there for years to come unless somebody takes him outta his misery or goes the lohan route.Spielberg, oliver stone,Dj caruso all got his back and want to brainwash audiences that he's the future Tom Hanks.

Matt Damon was Laughable enough playing an assassin for three bourne movies all those damn fights he had were all choreographed what a pile of sh*t the first one was so they might as well have another weak, frail actor portray an assassin because it will be another comedy in the making.

Can they just typecast at least Statham for the role? because at least he's believable and entertaining.

Blank is that you in the headline picture?
You look like you go for boys

Trailer- Haha no way i didn't notice benny in there. Yeah i liked Nick Loves firm the person playing Bex made it for me, i haven't seen him in any thing else, thought he was good though he probably was a darker version than Gary Oldman's character. The fights are better as well it just annoys me that the police always turn up just at the right moment lol

Na i haven't heard of those films mate ill check em out, as if the BBC are even trying to compete with film 4 they've got no creativity the only decent thing they show is Wonders of the Universe you seen that bad boy?
trailertrash writes:
on March 26th, 2011 at 5:59:24 AM

Paul Anderson played Bex in The Firm and your right he did a stand up job.

He added his own spin on the character, so it never felt like he had seen what Oldman had done before and just copied it (which would have been very easy to do).

Benny from Grange Hill may have been before your time mate, The Tucker Jenkins years late 70's early 80's.

Not seen Wonders of the Universe is that the Brian Cox thing ?
