Dwayne Johnson in Talks for "Snitch" Action Thriller

Dwayne Johnson in Talks for "Snitch" Action ThrillerSubmit Comment
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is negotiating to star in "Snitch," an action thriller which Ric Roman Waugh (Felon) is re-writing and will direct. Before Waugh, Carl Franklin (Out of Time) was attached to helm.

In the movie, Johnson will play a working class father who goes undercover when his teenage son is sentenced to 30 years after being set up in a drug deal.

The story is inspired by a PBS "Frontline" documentary about how a shift in US drug laws toward federal mandatory sentencing minimums compelled the guilty to snitch on others.

The plan is to start filming this June.

The Rock is playing a movie which based on PBS doc*mentary? Wow, things are going south fast for the rock to become rock bottom.

His face looks like a big orange blob of steroids in that picture, some kind of deformed egg. I don't think he's a particularly bad actor compared to todays standards but he needs a better f*cking agent who is that guy, worst role choices ever!

Sadly his career will not hit rock bottom,he'll make a couple of more disney movies for backup if he does not succeed at other roles or he'll go back to wrestling

he's not terrible. not great. he's had a few good roles.

this movie actually sounds like a good idea i just don't know if the rock is the right guy to pull it off

Actually, his agent does a good job. He makes below average movies and gets paid like an A-lister.

His Disney contract was insane. I'd have done those movies, too, if I got half of what he got.

Better him than John Cena.

I guess.

Blank- Yeah good point on the business end of things, but if he wants to be taken seriously in any way or not laughed at for the rest of his life for going down the disney route his agent has failed.

The Rock, Sandler and Will Ferrell have the best agents in the worlds (if it's not the same person).

Sandler - $25mil. a movie and he's not bringing in the bucks. But liked Happy Gilmore (that's long ago already) and (surprisingly liked) The Longest Yard (as I'm not fond of remakes).

Ferrell - even more-so. He's done.

Both gentlemen are better playing drama. And Ferrell is only funny when he's in an ensemble cast. His lead roles suck more than Lohan trying to get a bowl of ice cream from the prison guard.

The Rock - can't act. He was on a talk show in the past year pushing one of his movies. The clip they showed he said was his favorite in the movie (they say that sometimes). It was a dramatic piece of he talking with someone else. An elementary school play would be more convincing.

I honestly thought the headline said,

Dwayne Johnson in Talks for "Snatch" Action Thriller

... then I thought, " Well, how are they gonna convince Zach Gallifinakis to play a female villian ? "

The c*ck is a horrific actor period and hell never fill in for arnold or sly,he's just one big samoan pile of sh*t who makes all these pointless eyebrow movements. I rather watch Steve Austin or John Cena or even triple H

Great. The Johnson is doing another Faster-like film from the guy good at bringing to screen behind-bars films. Sounds like a two-man circle-jerk.

Felon *was* pretty good, though.

"And Ferrell is only funny when he's in an ensemble cast."

Yeah, but only because laughter for the other actor's antics bleeds into Ferrell's screen time.
