"Limitless" Tops Domestic Box Office

"Limitless" Tops Domestic Box OfficeSubmit Comment
"Limitless," starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, took first place at the domestic box office with $19 million. The film cost $27 million to make and already made all of it back through pre-sales.

"Rango" came in second with $15 million and has now grossed a total of $140 million globally, already more than its $135 million budget. "Battle: Los Angeles" took third with $14.6 million, but took first place overseas with $29 million. The film has now cracked the $100 million mark. It cost $70 to make.

Matthew McConaughey's "Lincoln Lawyer" became the first movie to team with Groupon, offering $6 tickets. Around 200,000 coupons were purchased, but only 40,000 were redeemed this weekend. In the end the film grossed $13.4 million, which was good enough for fourth place. "Lawyer" will likely make back its $40 million budget, but it will be a struggle.

The other wide release of the weekend was "Paul," starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The comedy landed in fifth place and grossed $13.2 million on a $40 million budget. Overseas, the film took in another $28 million, making it a success.

Meanwhile, "Mars Needs Moms" continues to perform poorly. The $150 million animated movie has now grossed only $15 million domestically in two weeks and another $2 million overseas.

Haha seth rogen I guess people are tired of ur sh*t films 5th place hell yea.De niro doesn't look to pleased by working with metrosexual actors like bradley cooper, but then again he did star in a movie with 50 cent.sounds like a sh*tty remake of phenomenom with Travolta

Mccounagay, the pride of Texas. not even people wanted to see ur movie with ryan phillipe for 6 dollars.they would of rather spent it on booze or cigaretes, you already played this character in a time to kill with Sam Jackson. so f*ck off and do wat u always do and pose for star and national inquirer shirtless

Last night we opted to see Battle LA instead of Limitless (because I really didn't need my girl drooling over B. Cooper for 2 hrs). Big mistake. That movie was TERRIBLE!!! Worst shaky-cam film ever! This directing style is killing film.

SAC-

I Agree (and with you Rambo)I was on edge watching the whole film, Not because of the films action and excitement but the shaky camera work made the whole experience very unnerving, unpleasant and hard to follow.

A Major Disappointment

I refuse to watch a film that has Bradley Cooper playing a super-intellient dude because he took some magic pills.

That's just too thick a patina of preposterous bullsh*t IMO.
