"Scream 5" is Already in the Works

"Scream 5" is Already in the WorksSubmit Comment
STYD is reporting that Dimension Films is searching for writers to pen their fifth "Scream" installment, despite that the fourth film has yet to hit theaters. This confirms that the studio is interested in developing an entire new trilogy.

When "Scream 4" was announced, Kevin Williamson (Scream, Scream 2) was writing the second trilogy, but was recently replaced by Ehren Kruger (Scream 3). Since Dimension is looking for new writers, it looks like neither Williamson or Kruger will be back.

Craven recently commented on the studio replacing Williamson. He said: "In some ways it's a Wes Craven film, and in way it's not entirely, because it's not a script I have control of. It's ultimately controlled by what the studio wants in the script. My job is much more bringing whatever experience and expertise and creativity I can. Look, there was a bumpy period when things shifted over from Kevin to Ehren. I signed up to do a script by Kevin and unfortunately that didnít go all the way through the shooting. But it certainly is Kevin's script and concept and ideas and themes."

He added that if the studio wants him to direct the sixth film, he'll would be willing to do it.

Wait a min Mr. Craven! It is your film or it isn't! What's with the studio ass kissing? Are just a hack for hire now? Take control of your projects!

Some one needs to pay for a new swimming pool!

If anything will bring Courtney Cox and David Arquette back together, its putting them together again in this fifth installment that is absolutely unnecessary. Pretty sneaky, Wes.

Very disappointing. Craven has gone from a guy who revolutionized horror to a simple director-for-hire. Sure, the man got to eat, but this is still very sad to see.

Willing to do it eh? How much to suck me off on Sunset Blvd there Wes?

I wonder if for this one, I will be able to navigate the internet without HAVING THE KILLER(s) SPOILED FOR ME BY SOME f*ckTARD ON THE INTERNET. It wasn't even on some scream 4 board either, just a random site.

Wes Craven, whore for hire.

Your not wrong there Mink , I'm amazed he only directed 2 out of the 9 Elm St movies.

The scariest part of the this movie is that there may be a fifth AND sixth.

Subtract "the".

Apparently the scariest part of me is my lack of grammar and an edit button.

^No, the scariest part is that Alex is a robot with no desire to give us flesh creatures an edit option.

"Your not wrong there Mink , I'm amazed he only directed 2 out of the 9 Elm St movies."

Yeah, the good one and the New Nightmare failure that was a lot like Scream in many ways.

Did you know: Frank Darabont helped write NOES 3? Poor guy.

New Nightmare talk about a film disappearing up it's own Ass, What a mess that was.

Frank had to pay the bills i guess Mink, But NOE3 was just about a step up from his Fly 2 screenplay.

Bet he likes people to think his film career started with the Shawshank Redemption.

"Bet he likes people to think his film career started with the Shawshank Redemption."

Frank's career may have not started with Shawshank, trailer, but from what I can tell, it pretty much ended there. Or began its long slow death march...

"Frank had to pay the bills i guess Mink, But NOE3 was just about a step up from his Fly 2 screenplay."

Look, any film with ten different writers and Back to the Future reject Eric Stoltz isn't going to do much for anyone anywhere, no doubt. Poor Frank...you know he nightly polishes whatever awards Shawshank earned.

"New Nightmare talk about a film disappearing up it's own Ass, What a mess that was."

Craven really tried to clean up that pooch-screw, didn't he? And by using the whole "it was a dream" deus ex machina bullsh*t, too.

How clever. Not.

I like how people think it matters what director and writer are chosen to make these films, as if it matters what cook you hire to microwave a Hungryman meal.
trailertrash writes:

you know he nightly polishes whatever awards Shawshank earned - lol (which wasn't to many of the big awards)

And i bet he burns Copies of Forrest Gump to heat his house and wipes his ass with Tom Hanks Toilet paper

if the fourth is anything like "my soul to take", i'm done with Wes Craven's bullsh*t.
