First Look: Steven SpielbergSubmit Comment
Thanks to EW, Empire and The Daily Mail, we now have the first official photos from the upcoming "War Horse" movie, which is directed by Steven Spielberg and is based on a novel by Michael Morpurgo. Check out the photos below.

Plot: Follows a young man named Albert (Irvine) and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War One. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend.

The new movie is adapted for the big screen by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) and Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral). It is scheduled to hit theaters on December 28th.

I'm smelling a PG rating, and lots of "Disney" infleunces.

I'm studying WW1 right now, and that's a subject that really hasn't been explored in depth like other wars. We need a "Saving Private Ryan" or a "BlackHawk Down" type of movie for WW1. Trench warfare was ugly and disgusting. We need a no-frills, hard R rated movie about WW1.

What we DON'T need is some Disney approached movie where they use a "vanilla" approach and put a blanket over what actually happened. If I'm right and it is Disney funded, expect to see Queen Latifah or other "token" characters, and the usual Disney crap: love story, awful music, overbearing annoying supporting cast.

lol, a movie about a man's love for his f*cking horse, and from the guy that brought us ET.

He really defenestrated himself after 'Catch Me If You Can', and hasn't done sh*t worth a damn since then.

Sounds like utter sh*t...but of course it will get Oscar nominated next year because it is Spielberg.

Alot of silly comments here, trashing Spielberg. Probably the same posters who trashed Cameron and "Avatar" before it was released and ended up looking completely foolish when that movie quickly became a smash hit. Will they never learn?

^great, another pretentious douchefag.

"Alot of silly comments here, trashing Spielberg."

Yeah, because he hasn't made one sh*t film after another for nearly a decade, right?

You must be the only stooge to have enjoyed Spielberg's laughably boring mysogynistic romp of a film, The Terminal, for one exampe among many.

"Probably the same posters who trashed Cameron and "Avatar""

Which still sucks and is easily the worst film of his career.

"before it was released"

Still saying it now, O Rational One.

"and ended up looking completely foolish when that movie quickly became a smash hit."

Because buttloads of cash equals great film, right? I must have missed the moment when Shawshank broke BO records.

"Will they never learn?"

Will random internet morons ever stop asking stupid questions out loud to themselves?

I'm a big fan of Spielberg and even though his more recent work gets trashed, I've enjoyed a lot of them (Minority Report, Catch Me if You Can, War of the Worlds, Munich, and Indiana Jones 4 are all solid movies in my book).

That being said........this looks lame.
