Today we have the opening scene from "The Divide" sci-fi thriller, which is directed by Xavier Gens (Hitman) and stars Milo Ventimiglia ("Heroes"), Michael Biehn (Terminator), Lauren German (Hostel: Part II) and Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction). It is set to premiere on March 13th at SXSW. Check it out below.

Plot: When a cataclysmic explosion devastates New York, eight strangers take refuge in the basement of their apartment building, a converted fallout shelter designed by their paranoid superintendent Mickey. With just three connecting rooms it's barely big enough, but with stockpiles of food and water, the group are at least safe from the horrors outside, and they settle in and attempt to fathom the catastrophe that has ended the lives of so many of their loved ones.

But suddenly men in HAZMAT suits storm their shelter and open fire. The strangers join forces in a desperate bid to take on this enemy, with no one understanding what these HAZMATS are looking for and what drives them to be so merciless. With fatalities on both sides and the remaining HAZMATS temporarily pushed back and locked out, the worst is yet to come for the group. Cabin fever sets in as the perception of the shelter shifts from safe-haven to claustrophobic rat-trap.

I'll give it a look. Though Gens did manage to make Timothy Olyphant look stupid.

Quit a feat.

Michael biehn about time this guy gets work he's got the scifi experience from the abyss,to killing terminators,to killing aliens, being in the navy seals witrh Sheen.

Rosanna arquete used to always show her ass and titties in every 90s movie

Hitman was sh*t jason statham would of been perfect without the british accent though

Jason Statham is perfect for any action film where can breeze through without doing any work, like The Mechanic. That had to be the easiest f*cking paycheck of any actor's career.

I still love him though, being the last of a dying breed, apparently, and having the cool to do what he does with such effortlessness.

Would be nice though if he took on something more demanding though.

As for The Divide, maybe this will be a surprise win like The Crazies. Olyphant was great in that and he has potential as an actor. He could get more work and people like Shia chould get less, but the gods are in disarray and prayers go largely unanswered.

Sadly, unless Gens has grown a great deal since Hitman, or he's hired a phenomenal writer, I don't see how this will be any better than his video game adaptation.

Can't see the vid but sounds good and Michael Biehn is good in whatever he does.

Hitman didn't live up to its potential, but I blame the writer for that. Gens still directed one of my all-time favs: Frontiere(s). This might not be anywhere that good, I don't think Gens will get the same opportunity to direct those kind of vehicles in the US, but it could still be fun.
