"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" to Hire New Director?

"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" to Hire New Director?Submit Comment
"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" is going through a lot of changes, so many that it is constantly pushing back its release date and has set a record for the most preview shows (a total of 98). Now comes word that the March 15th opening may not happen, because the plan is to reword the entire production.

The $65 million Broadway show has been plagued with cast injuries and negative reviews, and many believe that without drastic changes, the show cannot survive. As a result, Julie Taymor and her co-creators Bono and the Edge of U2 have had conversations about overhauling the script, music, and even replacing Taymor as the director.

Just the other day it was reported that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the writer behind Marvel's "Spider-Man," has been brought on to rework the show's book. While it's not certain that Taymor will be replaced, the least that will happen is that consultants will be hired to help fix all the problems.

How about just hiring an arsonist instead?

Changing out the director for this sh*t is a lot like looking for the Titanic's next captain after it collided with the iceberg.

Dunno if I've ever hated something so much and yet felt so good and right.

Turning off the lights would be more apt. And merciful.
