Two Directors in Talks to Helm "GI Joe" Sequel

Two Directors in Talks to Helm "GI Joe" SequelSubmit Comment
THR is reporting that Paramount Pictures has narrowed down their list of director to helm the upcoming "GI Joe" sequel to two very different candidates.

The first is F. Gary Gray, the man behind such films as "Law Abiding Citizen," "The Italian Job" and "The Negotiator," and Jon Chu who is known mostly for "Justin Bieber's Never Say Never" and the last two "Step Up" installments.

"GI Joe 2" is a high priority for the studio, which hopes to begin filming in June of next year. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has already met with both directors, who have yet to meet with Paramount executives.

Wow are they serious about option 2 director? He's responsible for step up atrocities and bieber.so he wants to make part two gayer than the first one with taters and have the gijoes be choreographed by dance movies like a bollywood movie.

Way to go paramount

Dance moves

Doesn't seem like a hard choice to me. Stick with Gray and you might have a chance at saving this Movie.

So this is one of those times where the choice is obvious to anyone with two brain cells to rub together, yet Hollywood will inexplicably go the other way? Just so I know.

I think Gray would be good, and I'm really keeping my fingers crossed they make a good sequel. How long until my dreams are shattered.....? lol

Gary it up

Give it to F. Gary Coleman. It'll be the best choice.

If serious - maybe Gray will manage to make something decent out of it.

Chu will make another gayfest.

The title of the first one already sounded like porn: "The rise of cobra".

How will they call the sequel:

"G.I.JOE: Into black hole"?

"...Danger from behind"

"...The eye of doom"?

"...Crazy Snake"?

"...The Ultimate Buttf*ck"?

f*ck YOU TATUM!
koul writes:

what the f*ck? Jon Chu? the step up movie director? G.I. Joe is too much of a big action movie for Chu to handle. he should just stick to his dance movies.
minkowski writes:

Geee, tough f*cking choice.

But hey, the film is already f*ckered, with having to follow in the Taters and Wayans f*ckfest of the first film. Just reboot the film franchise and let ME do the new story, ok? I'll do it for access to craft services.

Hmmm... Cool guy making chaos because some dudes killed his wife or gay 11-year-old teenager that sings like a 7-year-old girl? Tough choice...

FIXED. You're welcome, Alex.

Dammit Big Daddy you beat me to it. It can't any worse than the 1st.

Really ?!?!?

Two directors being courted to direct this .... recanting and ressurection of an obvious franchise ?

Wow, I say they oughta play a round of russian roulette. Only the loser gets to direct this schlock.

Okay.

A somewhat capable director versus a guy who got sh*t handed to him and is likely to be working at a Taco Bell, serving at a drive thru ?

... ooooh. Tough choice.

Two Directors in Talks to Helm "GI Joe"

Tatum is the tiniest problem of this sh*tfest.

I consider the very existence of the sequel as a major offence.
moefromspringfield writes:

Dont give it to neither.

How about Michael Patrick King if they are looking at Jon Chu.

Get McTiernan and make it brutal!
nuttie30xx writes:

the best thing about the 1st one is the trailer

so please dont make a second
darkraven28 writes:

The obvious choice is the one who's actually directed action movies (although who the hell knows what he was doing with his Vin Diesel movie A Man Apart.). Give it to Gray. He's not employed right now. To hell with the other idiot.
LastActionHero writes:

After this one I bet the next is a reboot in 5 years with real actors and a better director. Between Tatum, Gordon-Levitt and a Wayons, this thing is an atrocity.
technoreaper writes:

Hollywood has finally dropped what they've been smoking.

Now please dump Channing Tatum. PLEASE.
