Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" Plot Revealed

Disney has unveiled the official plot synopsis and a few notes from Tim Burton's upcoming "Frankenweenie" movie, which will be done using stop-motion animation, filmed in black and white, and rendered in 3D. It is set to hit theaters on October 5th, 2012.

Plot: A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.

Notes:

* When Tim Burton originally conceived the idea for "Frankenweenie," he envisioned it as a full-length, stop-motion animated film. Due to budget constraints, he instead directed it as a live-action short, released in 1984.

* "Frankenweenie" follows in the footsteps of Tim Burton's other stop-motion animated films "Corpse Bride" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas" both of which were nominated for Academy Awards.

* Over 200 puppets and sets were created for the film.

* The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O'Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow).

* Several of the character names Victor, Elsa Van Helsing, Edgar "E" Gore and Mr. Burgermeister were inspired by classic horror films.

so... it's the exact same plot of the original Tim Burton's Frankenweenie.
He's remaking his own films now? He should've started with Planet of the Apes since that was the worst.

Didn't "The Corpse Bride" feature a dead dog coming back to life?

Derivative, Tim. Real, real derivative.

Burton needs to can all of this sh*t and give us a decent reboot of 'The Addams Family'.

Thats one thing i'm sure he could pull off well

"He's remaking his own films now?"

Um, no, he made a short way back in 1984. He had wanted to make a full length film, but couldn't, and now, he's finally found the time and money (I'm guessing here) to fulfill his thirty year old wish.

I swear, you guys complain when he makes a Depp?Carter film, but now that he's going back to a somewhat vintage Burton concept, one he never really made good on, you guys are still complaining.

Look, I don't care for the guy either, but hell, at least he's swapping up this time. Not like he can go back to making Batman films.
