Guy Pearce Joins Shia LaBeouf in "Wettest County" Gangster FilmSubmit Comment
THR is reporting that director John Hillcoat will be re-teaming with his "The Road" and "The Proposition" star Guy Pearce for "Wettest County in the World" gangster film, which is based on a book by Matt Bondurant.

The cast is already comprised of Shia LaBeouf, Tom hardy and Jessica Chastain. And in addition to Pearce, new cast members include Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska and Jason Clarke.

Bondurant's book is based on his grandfather two great-uncles, who were known as the Bondurant boys, bootlegging siblings who take the law into their own hands in Prohibition-era Virginia while making a run for the American Dream. Nick Cave wrote the screenplay.

LaBeouf, Hardy and Clark are playing the three brothers. Pearce will play an overly violent deputy who comes down hard on the Bondurants while Oldman will play a gangster who engages the boys to deliver alcohol. Wasikowska plays LaBeouf's love interest, a local Mennonite girl.

The movie is currently in pre-production in Georgia and is scheduled to begin filming on February 28th.

I'm sure that in some alternate reality Guy Pearce turned out to be a big movie star after 'Memento'

Isn't Tom Hardy supposed to begin shooting Dark Knight Rises in April or May? Are they gonna just wrap this up in 4-6 weeks (at least Hardy's parts in the film)?

Considering the talent behind and in front of the camera, I'm all game for this.

The Propostion is a highly underated film, i reccomend it to anyone

Also,

Just watch that Red Dead Redemption mimi movie that Hillcot directed. He needs to make an actual film with Pearce as Marston

I hope Shia doesn't get into a fight on set.

Would hate to see him cry like a little bitch girl.

Guy Pearce : The Hard Word, LA Confidential, The Proposition
Tom Hardy : Bronson, Rocknrolla
Jason Clarke : Brotherhood, Blackhawk Down, The Patriot

Shia LaDoucheBag : Eagle Wall-Eyed, Wall Street 2 : Money Never Snores, Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Failure,
Indiana Jones and the Killing of the Credible Stories

...wow. Your right. A track record DOES say a lot, doesn't it, LaDouche ?

LaBeouf, Hardy and Clark are playing the three brothers.

... uhmmmm, hunh ? LaBeouf is Clarke's (not Clark) brother ? That right there doesn't make me interested in this pile of sh*t.

Nephew, maybe, but brother ?

Yeah, this is going to be f*cked.

Wasikowska plays LaBeouf's love interest, a local Mennonite girl.

Yeah, I bet she's f*cking psyched.

She might want to wear boxing gear during the entire shoot.

Putting Pearce next to LeBaeouf is like putting Crisco next to the lard between Oprah's thighs.

i never understood why guy pearce didnt get bigger roles/more work. i mean, sure, he works enough, but i would think producers would be clawing at his door to sign on to their movies... great actor
