Ralph Fiennes in Talks for "James Bond 23"Submit Comment
Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are already on board to return for the 23rd "James Bond" film, to be directed by Sam Mendes (Road to Perdition). Meanwhile, Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men) is in talks to play a villain, and now comes word that Ralph Fiennes has also been approached for a role.

According to an executive connected to the production, Mendes recently met with Fiennes and spoke to him about a "darkly complex" role, which intrigued the actor.

"It's the first of a new generation of Bond films and the ideas Mendes has push the film into darker territory where the characters are modern, mature and challenging," said the executive. "The part is one of extreme complexity and only an actor of great ability and dexterity can take it on and Ralph's name is top of our list."

At one point, Mendes also considered Kevin Spacey for a role, but it will likely not happen. The new Bond film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 9th, 2012.

Ralph Fiennes is one of my favorite actors (see him in 'In Bruges', he is f*cking awesome in that movie), him playing a Bond villain would be so awesome. Although, it is hard to chose which guy: Javier or Ralph.

Ralph Fiennes is the f*ckin man! His Schindler's List performance still gives me the chills!

@masht: why choose? Let's get both!

Please as a reoccurring villain (not with SPECTER) or a MI5 agent with an axe to grind and no license to kill like a double O .

Sounds good to me.

Please get him and Rachel Weisz and you'll have a perfect ensemble team for the next film.

Could be epic.
