"Beavis and Butthead" Return to TV This Summer

"Beavis and Butthead" Return to TV This SummerSubmit Comment
Back in July, it was confirmed that Mike Judge (Idiocracy, Office Space, "King of the Hill") was working on thirty new episodes of "Beavis and Butthead" for MTV.

Now, during an announcement of its upcoming shows, the network has revealed that the episodes will begin airing on MTV this summer. The new series will keep the characters in high-school and its minimalist animated style, but will update the music videos. Judge will return to voice both leads.

"Beavis and Butthead" premiered in 1993 as an animated short called "Frog Baseball," which aired on MTV's "Liquid Television." The basic plotline revolved around two shorts-wearing, spectacularly immature teenage pals whose banter was delivered against the backbeat of their constant idiotic laughter.

Good thing. I thought I'd have to wait another year or something. Can't wait to see poke at a Lady GaGa video.

This is MTV we're talking about people.

There's NO WAY MTV will NOT f*ck this up.

It will be censored like no other.

I have a feeling that Mike Judge wrote well enough that it won't have to be heavily censored and will still have his artistic integrity. Mike Judge is pretty great.

@Pig Newtons

Why would MTV f*ck it up? That's where the show first aired. And there's never been anything to censor.

@codeman: Not sure if you remember, but the earlier seasons were wayyyyyyyy more raunchy. They "muled" drugs with a guy named Dave when they went to Tijuana, Mexico, blew up Mr. Anderson's kitchen, painted a cat's butt, peeped at a fat woman having sex in a van, and played with fire. Parents groups went after MTV and Mike Judge almost lost the show. It got to the point where every time a teen or pre-teen did something bad, Beavis and Butthead caught the blame in the media and MTV chomped at the bit to hammer Mike Judge for it.

@Pig Newtons

I'm fairly certain it was "Mother's of America" that got the show taken off the air after some retard kid set his little brother on fire and killed him
