Ricky Gervais Asked to Host Golden Globes Again

Ricky Gervais Asked to Host Golden Globes AgainSubmit Comment
Outside of Judd Apatow and Jennifer Lopez, it seems that not that many people were offended by Ricky Gervais' jokes during the Golden Globes, because Gervais just revealed that he has been asked to host the event for the third year in row.

"The ratings were up again and the organizers asked me to consider a third year," he told Heat magazine. "I don't think I should. I don't know what I could do better. I certainly couldn't get more press for them, that's for sure. You know me. Two seasons is enough."

This is a bit of surprise, since most of Hollywood and HFPA expressed their shock regarding the jokes. Gervais himself was sure that the HFPA would never ask him to host again. But I guess you can't argue with ratings.

Update: Gervais cleared up his statements, saying that it was NBC who asked him not to rule out a return for the third year. It was not HFPA.

That's cool, but his novelty may be quite dead by then.

With WP, no news is definitely good news...

It's like Alex works several jobs a day and only updates this place during his three lunch breaks.

Ricky has been going strong for many years now so pretty sure if he did come back he'd be just as entertaining and ruthless....

Still nothing on John Barry Alex??! quite frankly disgusted

Agree 100% AYT , We had news on Hacky Sack and Hula Hoop movies , But nothing on someone who has had a massive influence in the film industry for over 50 years !!

Shame on WP

Pffft. People that compose the music are little. Doesn't matter if they composed the music for nearly a dozen Bond films.

Now, if Lindsay Lohan dies (Allah willing), we will get ten stories on her passing (praise be to Allah).

/sarcasm.

Maybe Alex doesnt like his music? or maybe there is no room after all the stories that end with a '?'....which we all know means they are fillers on a slow day

As he said, ratings are up again, that means NBC and HFPA know exactly what they are doing, so f*ck the celebs who can't take a joke.

ayt ball- so true mate, as soon as you see a question mark at the end of a headline you know it will never be true?
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

Of course, because it's the only time NBC had really strong ratings.

Next time, JLo should open up for him, by doing a gangbang with the Crips and Bloods, backing that massive ass onto their "loaded weapons".

You know, to keep it real.

Seriously. Follow that link. Its Ricky Gervais as a pop singer 30 years ago.

@rabid

Oh. My. God.

Who knew he was imitating David Bowie ?

And not even the Ziggy Stardust or Aladdin Sane Bowie.

The 80's false cocaine/p*ssy loving Bowie.
