Benjamin Walker is the Lead in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"Submit Comment
Despite auditioning both Adrien Brody and Josh Lucas for the lead in 20th Century Fox's upcoming "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," the studio decided to give the role to Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers, Kinsey).

Story revolves around the president's quest to rid the world of vampires, presented as the real conflict behind the Civil War. Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the book which inspired the film, will also write the script. Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) will direct.

"Abraham Lincoln" is set to begin filming in March in 3D and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 22nd, 2012. It is being produced by Tim Burton.

Pardon me, but doesn't he look a bit young? I know that Brody and Lucas aren't exactly the oldest dudes in the biz and they can do a bunch of hefty make-up, but still, he looks like he's twenty or something? How will he wear that beard without looking ridiculous?

I'd pay to see it. Only if George Bush's ass got the most heinous murder of all.

Idunno about this one... i suppose they can always fall back on the old "it's a fantasy retelling, so the character won't look exactly like lincoln." excuse

Uh huh. This is how we remember the guy that freed the slaves and saved the Union? By having him portrayed by a snot-nosed little kid who doesn't look a day over fifteen, much less fifty?

And Zombies. Really. They've even infected American's more 'historical' films, which doesn't surprise me as most Americans don't give a sh*t about history unless they can attach a collectible coffee mug to it.

"presented as the real conflict behind the Civil War."

Lots of Zombies during the Civil War, eh? I must have missed that chapter in American History.

"Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) will direct......It is being produced by Tim Burton"

Naturally.

@mink...not zombies, vampires. and besides, its movies man...i think the statute of limitations on disrespecting abraham lincoln has long since passed, i really don't think this movie is going to tarnish his memory. . .lighten up man.

Oh yeah, vampires. Big difference. Both are boring and over used. And it's not about disrespect, it's about a culture that has low-brow EVERYTHING, including extremely famous historical figures. That's f*cking ridiculous. You don't see this braindead sh*t anywhere but the US.

Can you see the Europeans doing Napolean: Wolfman Hunter? Lenin: Zombie Hunter? No, because even they still retain a modic*m of taste. They don't whore any and everybody/thing out for money. yet.
