Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart in "Snow White and the Huntsman"

Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart in "Snow White and the Huntsman"Submit Comment
Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) seemed like a lock for Universal Pictures' upcoming "Snow White and the Huntsman," but he instead decided to join Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel. Variety is now reporting that Viggo Mortensen (The Road) has stepped in to replace him.

In this new version of the Grimm fairy tale, the huntsman (who, in the original story, is supposed to kill Snow White but ends up letting her go) becomes her protector and a mentor as they try to escape from the evil queen who ordered her death. Charlize Theron is in talks to play the queen.

The studio has fast-tracked the project since it's competing with several other "Snow White" films that are currently in development. And now that Mortensen is on board, it's time to cast Snow White. Universal has been searching for an unknown actress to take the role, but has now offered it to "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart.

The film is set to shoot sometime this summer for a December 21st, 2012 release.

Well at least we have Theron to wash away the fug that Kristen Stewart brings to the screen

Fassbender must really hate Twilight as much as us to just turn away a paying job. Kudos to him.

At least it has one good actor in the movie.

Kristen Stewart was decent in Adventureland and Panic Room. Maybe with good actors around her, she can be decent here too? And who better to mentor her in real-life than Viggo is there?

It seems that Viggo would like to re-portraying aragorn. Isn't he some kind of bodyguard for those midg...err hobbits?

Isn't Snow White supposed to be beautiful and at least have a rack? Perhaps an ass?

hmm sounds much like the Sigourney Weaver/ Same Neil version. That's a good thing.

If it wasn't for Bale, Viggo wouldn't be in this lame article. Oh, and Kristen Stewart, for christ sake, get some f*cking sun and burn in the process.

That no talent fug Stewart is on this movie? No away in hell I'm going to spend my money on this!
rabid writes:

Stewart isn't much of a talent, but I've seen her work well under directors that knew how to use her. Unfortunately, this guy Rupert Sanders has never made a film before. I hope he knows how to edit.

"mmm....i will trust Mr Mortensen's judgement"

You mean his desperation, as he constantly gets passed up by other actors like Bale. He's resorting to taking second-rate films only after all the desirable talent has left the building.

He's really not that great an actor at all. I still recall his performance in Daylight. It was terrible. And History of Violence wasn't a moment in acting people will recall twenty years from now, either.

But he has the looks, and some of the talent, and just not much else. And Hollyywood is a monstrously competitive bitch. You need every imaginable skill to succeed. It's natural selection on steroids. And Mortensen just doesn't have enough f the necessary adaptations to thrive, apparently. He's certainly not the alpha male.

As for Stewart, you guys are nuts, especially that faggot Shay who has to pay for women. I mean, calling Stewart f*cking ugly and then bragging about payinig for sex from lonely, miserable drugged out whores is just beyond both disgusting and rockbottom pathetic.

"I thought he was wearing a star trek uniform from the photo"

Same here. Strange. At first glance it does look like he's wearing one of the early shirts.
minkowski writes:

"Red shirt = no sequel."

Red shirt characters are the token black guy of Star Trek. They're there only to die and no one cares

kristen stewart is the worst f*cking possible choice, she cant act her way out of a yet garbage bag...f*ck this bitch needs to die
minkowski writes:

Hey, now, I'd still do her.
AYT BALL writes:

@ Mink - i trust his judgement because regardless what you think of him as a man or an actor he has been in some great movies with some great directors, doesnt seem to just pick projects at random....Daylight being the only cheesy role that springs to mind at the moment, unless hes all bearded up like lord of the rings hes to quirky looking and sounding to be everyones favourite choice of leading man but as a result he seems to get much more interesting roles, so yeah i will continue to trust his judgement for now.

Stewarts f*ckin deadpan. Thats her acting technique. if thats even a technique. But bonus points for Theron!
JUST SMILE AND BLOW ME! writes:

I think AnnaSophia Robb with black hair would be a better choice than Kristen Stewart. I'm surprised they didn't cast a black girl...
