Brian Austin Green Almost Starred in "127 Hours"Submit Comment
James Franco is receiving plenty of critical acclaim for his role in "127 Hours," but before Danny Boyle became interested in developing a film based on mountain climber Aron Ralston, "90210" star Luke Perry was working on acquiring the rights to the story.

"I tried to acquire the rights to the story and do it with ['90210' co-star] Brian [Austin] Green," Perry told Access Hollywood. "I thought he'd be great in that part, but Danny Boyle, he got it... Brian is a great actor and I always wanted to find something to do with him."

If you're wondering how "127 Hours" would have looked with Green playing Ralston and Perry behind the camera, all we have to do is look to "Goodnight for Justice," which Perry directed and stars his other "90210" co-star Jason Priestley. The only place you can watch it is on the Hallmark Channel (premieres on January 29th at 8pm).

@Johnny

Maybe that's the real reason why he lose his role in that movie. He was busy boning Fox.

I think, and I may be a bit off my rocker here, that Luke Perry dorecting is probably the worst part of this news.

I think Green might have done a passable performance IF he had taken direction from a talented and competent director, and Perry is (laughing) certainly neither.

Had Scorsese or Boyle taken on Green, he might have done better than expected. Look how horrible Arnie was until Cameron, or how not-so-great di Caprio was until Scorses.

The director you work with has enormous power over how well you exploit whatever talent you possess, and people very easily forget that fact.
