Sacha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator" Gets Plot and Release Date

Paramount Pictures has scheduled "The Dictator," starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by "Borat" helmer Larry Charles, for May 11th, 2012. This means that production should begin very soon.

Plot: The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. It is inspired by the best selling novel, "Zabibah and The King," by Saddam Hussein.

Cohen will play dual roles of dictator and goat herder.

The movie has a budget of $58 million, with $20 million going to Cohen. But that still wasn't enough to attract the actor to the project, so Paramount sent two goats to visit Cohen and his agents. Apparently the stunt worked.

I wonder how quickly he'll get naked with another man for 'comedic value'. Ugh.

I'm sure those goats were virgins. Why else would he accept the role after the studio sent them. No loose goats for him

I'm confused, is this a comedy or not? (Serious question).

"It is inspired by the best selling novel, "Zabibah and The King," by Saddam Hussein."

I thought that was a joke but it turns out it's actually true!

Hmm...not really what I would've expected from Cohen.

I mean, I always figured he'd sign on to star in a film about the imprisoned Iraqi war criminals that were forced by American troops to strip naked and get into a big, hairy pile on top of one another. Cohen would play the lead inmate, stuck in the thick of this captive, mountainous orgy with each thumb in a guy's mouth and a thick, gelatinous, seven-inch, sand-encrusted slong resting atop his bearded, sweaty forehead. Meanwhile, his shaft is being blown by three androgynous Sunni extremists.

I can just picture director Larry Charles bellowing offscreen: "Hey, Sacha, you're supposed to look sad! Quit giving the camera a thumbs-up! The army guys are supposed to do that!"

They can call the movie "Improvised Explosive Device" and show an image of an oil derrick spouting out thick, white goo on the poster.

Sound suspiciously similar to 'The Great Dictator' to me.
