IBM Builds Computer to Win on "Jeopardy" Posted: January 15th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
IBM has been working on a supercomputer, called Jeo-bot, that can consistently win on the TV game show "Jeopardy." Aside from knowing facts, it also has the ability to interpret wordplay and other subtle hints. To test it, the company decided to hold a practice round and brought on the best human contestants in "Jeopardy" history to compete against. The first is Ken Jennings, who holds the title for the most consecutive wins. The second is Brad Rutter, who holds the title for the most money won on the show. Jeo-bot ended up beating both of them. Now the plan is for all three to play for real, in a televised match that's set to air in February. For now, check out a low-quality video of the practice round below.

Not movie news, but big deal. You attach the world's fastest computer to a digital copy of the Encyclopedia Britannica, or Wiki if you want the computer to lose.
I mean Jeopardy doesn't require much thinking. It only requires lots of good memory for the storage of worthless facts, and the ability to retrieve them fairly quickly.
Now CHESS, that takes some thinking and some algorithmmic skill to ptogram, and IBM already beat the world's greatest Chess champ, so beating some dork at Jeopardy sounds like a step backwards.
Hey, IBM, how about working on that Turing Test problem instead, huh?

How about building a computer that'll suck my d*ck and not want to cuddle afterward or share their f*cking dreams. Then you got something!

Ranger, I hear it from good authority (Che)that you can buy childrens dolls with elastic mouths made for mechanically-simulated bottle-feeding.
When you're done, just change the diaper.
