Frances McDormand is the Villain in "Madagascar 3"Submit Comment
THR is reporting that Frances McDormand (Fargo) has boarded the voice cast of "Madagascar 3," which will revolve around the New York zoo animals trying to find their way home by joining a traveling circus.

McDormand will voice the villain, a calculating and goal-oriented animal control officer who leads her team to capture the animals. Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith are also set to reprise their roles.

"Madagascar 3" is directed by Eric Darnell (Madagascar, Antz) and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 18th, 2012. The original "Madagascar" film grossed $533 million worldwide. The sequel took in $604 million.

I love Madagascar 2 but I don't like Madagascar & Antz! Why don't they keep the director of p2?

I never knew either film raked in as much as they did, considering that I haven't seen either and have no intention of ever doing so, mostly because there's no appeal, for me anyway, in talking zoo animals always trying to find their way from once place to another, and it seems to me more like the plot of Ice Age. So If I have seen one, I might consider it downright likely I've seen the other.

I also have zero love for the voice acting talent, which looks like a Who's Who of failed actors and actresses sweating in out in an eternal prison of acting hell, paying pentance for the trash they've foisted on us by providing a minimal of paid community service though their often lackluster, and even more often downright rejected, cinematic projects.
