"Running Wilde" Canceled, "Arrested Development" Movie Coming Soon?

"Running Wilde" Canceled, "Arrested Development" Movie Coming Soon?Submit Comment
Ron Howard recently confirmed that the "Arrested Development" movie will definitely happen soon. That's great news, but we've been hearing this for the last few years.

Now comes word that show creator Mitch Hurwitz may have more time on his hands to finish the script and direct the film since Fox just canceled his "Running Wilde" TV series after only one season. Hurwitz has nothing else lined up, so hopefully he'll get to work on the "Arrested Development" movie. And since Will Arnett was also part of the show, this makes him more available as well.

The bad news is that Hurwitz previously warned that the "Arrested" film heavily depends on the success of "Running Wilde." We'll see how true that is.

In related news, Fox also canceled "The Good Guys," starring Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks.

I usually run home to tell my wife of any Arrested Development err… developments, but I will not anymore. It just leads to disappointment and a sense of time rushing all around. If it ever gets made they may find the interest less piqued due to the distance acc*mulated.

FOX f*cking blows! Running Wilde was a great show, I knew it would be shakey when Hurwitz chose Fox, yet again, to broadcast another of his shows

Both Running Wilde and The Good Guys were excellent shows that should not have been cancelled. From now on I just think I shouldn't watch Fox because you get hooked on a show and they cancel it after 1 season. They need to give things more time.

^^^ Agreed

well thats kinda funny, because I rememeber awhile back wp posting another article regarding arrested development film rested on the success of Running Wilde, stating that if this show was a success, an arrested development film would happen, but if it the show wasnt a success the film wouldnt happen..

It's funny. A show titled Arrested Development suffers a cinematically arrested development.

You just can't write good irony like that.

People actually watched Running Wilde and liked it? Really???
