JJ Abrams' "Super 8" is Called "Darlings"?

JJ Abrams has figured out how to promote a movie. First release a mysterious trailer in front of theatrical showings of a blockbuster. Then release that trailer online, change the title of the film several times only to keep the original title. Release the movie in theaters, make a lot of money and then hint at a sequel for the rest of your life.

He's already done this with "Cloverfield" and has moved on to applying the formula for "Super 8." The trailer appeared in front of "Iron Man 2" and was then released online. Abrams is now ready to play around with the title.

According to a Brazilian trailer for "Super 8," the film will actually be called "Darlings." This is not too surprising, since it was first rumored that Abrams would be remaking Tatum O'Neal's "Little Darlings" film. We later found out that he was just using the title for casting calls in order to keep "Super 8" a secret.

Alex, for once in a while, you're right on the money.

You can change the title many times you want, just don't keep us in suspense. If this is some sort of sequel or prequel to Cloverfield, tell us now. I doubt it is but I don't wanna take that chance

i have faith but why release another monster/alien/shaky cam film so similar to the old one he's either trying to be some kind of auteur or he's a c*nt

Stainer (as he is known in Shes out of my league) was the best thing about Cloverfield. J.J. Abrams is overrated. and therefore I could care less about this Super secret, Super 8, Super Fail.

I like what he's done so far, marketing aside. Its hard to fault anyone looking to market in a different direction in this climate, but lets not make it a standard tool.

JJ Abrams is one of the best kind if people at keeping secrets that would keep us interested (cough* Michael Bay *cough). I barely know anything about this project except the trailer and that it's a Sci-Fi monster movie, I give kudos to Abrams for doing this well.

Darlings is obviously the codename for the trailer.
