Today we have the first half of the UK trailer for "The Ward" horror thriller, directed by John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape From New York, The Thing). Check it out below.

Plot: Sharing the ward with four disturbed young women, Kristen (Amber Heard) does not know why she is there, or where she came from. But she does know that she is not safe, and soon realizes that things are not what they seem. As one-by-one the other girls disappear, Kristen desperately struggles to escape, but in doing so makes a discovery far more horrific than anyone could have imagined.

In addition to Heard, the new movie stars Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass), Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th) and Jared Harris (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). It is set to hit theaters in the UK on January 21st. No word if it will ever get a US release.

Love to see Carpenter get back to his horror best (Thing,Halloween, Fog, Escape NY).

The guy has been away too long and by the look of this he's been watching Nightmare on Elm st 3 .... A lot.

I hope the ending of the trailer builds up to a lesbian shower scene.

I think no trailer can do justice to John Carpenter, that man's a genious, and his movies are an experience.

Bob I do hope you can count everything from Escape from L.A. onward not so... genius.

Haha, but you are correct, from the 90's onward his movies were quite an experience... An experience of witnessing a downfall of a good director. How the f*ck, do you go from The Thing to Vampire$.

jd -

Got to say i think Ghost of Mars was Carpenters lowest point , i didn't mind Vampires to much.

But the Thing is one of the best Horror films ever made IMO

Rambo - Big Trouble is a classic and it's Kurt Russell's best character.

And Kim Cattrall looked ok as well

Love to see a sequel to that movie.

Loved 'They Live', even though it was a poorly-acted anti-Reagan screed put to film.

Back on topic, Carpenter is doomed. He hasn't had a good film in decades. The fact that we have to be reminded he directed The Thing and Halloween is all the evdence we need to know he sucks.

I have no hope for this film because I have no hope for Carpenter.
