First Look: Kevin Spacey's "Margin Call" Thriller

First Look: Kevin SpaceySubmit Comment
Two weeks ago The Black List was unveiled, listing the most-liked unproduced (in 2010) screenplays in Hollywood according to 290 film executives. In the top ten is a film called "Margin Call," based on the final twenty-four hours of Lehman Brothers.

It turns out that "Margin Call" was completed before the list was released and is now set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next month before hitting theaters on April 15th. The cast includes Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Stanley Tucci, and Demi Moore. Check out the first photos below.

Plot: Set in the high-stakes world of the financial industry, "Margin Call" is a thriller entangling the key players at an investment firm during one perilous 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis. When entry-level analyst Peter Sullivan (Quinto) unlocks information that could prove to be the downfall of the firm, a roller-coaster ride ensues as decisions both financial and moral catapult the lives of all involved to the brink of disaster.

Great. Michael Clayton meets Wall Street, set in tv's 24 hour format but squashed into a 90 minute film closet.

No thanks.

I can already see the reviews:

Margin Call is Marginal.

Margin Call or major fail?

That much interest, huh?

I mean, how much f*cking boring can it get? You have Spacey, who hasn't been much true fun since Seven, and you have, like Che's days as a window-worker at a sperm bank, a lot high-finance corporate ass-raping.

...a lot OF...

And still no interest on this movie, huh?

Hollywood should run all their movie ideas as if their actually going to make the film, before spending any money, just to see what's not going to work with audiences.

This movie serves as a great first empirical experiment of that kind.

No interest on the internet = FAIL. As Tom Jones said in 'The Thirteenth Floor': you do the math, *sshole!

Wake me up when it gets good....Looks like I'll never wake up. Poor Spacey, gone the way of a marketable actor, into a step away from a SyFy Crotchasaurus vs Gigantass movie

I got f*cking tired of Enron and the movie Enron : Smartest Guys in the Room, because it was a inappropriate and unlikely glorification of making money at the expense of the lower classes and I'm pretty f*cking sure I'm not going to like this f*cking movie either.

That and the movie Casino Jack, about Abramoff and starring, suprisingly, Kevin f*cking Spacey.

You all got f*cked up by what this movie is about. Shouldn't you be more interested HOW it happened?

I'll see it. Sounds much better than Wallstreet.

Spacey's career since American Beauty went downhill faster then you could say Lindsay lohan is in jail.
