Robert De Niro Tops List of Most Movie Deaths

Robert De Niro Tops List of Most Movie DeathsSubmit Comment
ChaCha put together a list of actors who have died the most in their movies. Topping the list is Robert De Niro with fifteen deaths, including ones in "Cape Fear," "Frankenstein" and "Jackie Brown."

Bruce Willis also made the list and was actually killed twice by his ex-wife Demi Moore in "Mortal Thoughts" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." Brad Pitt is in top ten as well, but his deaths are a bit odd. He died in "Cool World," but returned as an animated character. He died in "Fight Club," but never actually existed. And he died in "Meet Joe Black," but came back as Death.

The list is far from perfect, since it doesn't include Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed, Titanic, Blood Diamond), Kevin Spacey (Se7en, American Beauty, LA Confidential), Samuel L. Jackson (Deep Blue Sea, True Romance, Jurassic Park), or John Travolta (Pulp Fiction, Face/Off, The Punisher).

Plus, there are a bunch of movies missing for Gary Oldman and Sean Bean. Check out ChaCha's list below and let us know what should be added:

* Robert De Niro (15 films): Bloody Mama, Bang the Drum Slowly, Mean Streets, Brazil, The Mission, Cape Fear, This Boy's Life, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Heat, The Fan, Jackie Brown, Great Expectations, 15 Minutes, Hide and Seek.

* Bruce Willis (11 films): Billy Bathgate, Mortal Thoughts, Death Becomes Her, Twelve Monkeys, The Jackal, Armageddon, The Sixth Sense, Hart's War, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Sin City, Planet Terror

* Johnny Depp (10 films): A Nightmare on Elm Street, Platoon, Freddy's Dead, Ed Wood, Dead Man, The Astronaut's Wife, From Hell, The Libertine, Sweeny Todd, Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

* Brad Pitt (10 films): A River Runs Through It, Kalifornia, Legends of the Fall, The Devil's Own, Troy, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Burn After Reading, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Meet Joe Black

* Dustin Hoffman (9 films): Midnight Cowboy, Who is Harry Kellerman And Why Is He Saying Terrible Things About Me?, Lenny, Death of a Salesman, Billy Bathgate, Hook, Wag the Dog, Perfume, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.

* Al Pacino (9 films): Scarface, Dick Tracy, The Godfather: Part III, Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, Insomnia, People I Know, The Recruit, Righteous Kill

* Jack Nicholson (9 films): Easy Rider, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Passenger, The Shining, Batman, Hoffa, Mars Attacks!, The Departed, The Bucket List

* Denzel Washington (8 films): Cry Freedom, Glory, Heart Condition, Malcolm X, Fallen, The Preacher's Wife, Training Day, Man on Fire.

* Christian Bale (8 films): Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna, Henry V, The Secret Agent, Mary Mother of Jesus, Shaft, Harsh Times, The Prestige, 3:10 to Yuma.

* George Clooney (5 films): Return to Horror High, Red Surf, The Perfect Storm, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Syriana.

* Robert Downey Jr (5 films): Less than Zero, Natural Born Killers, Richard III, The Gingerbread Man, US Marshals

* Sean Bean (5 films): Equilibrium, The Fellowship of the Ring, Goldeneye, The Hitcher, Patriot Games.

* Gary Oldman (5 films): The Book of Eli, Bram Stroker's Dracula, The Fifth Element, Leon, True Romance

* Mel Gibson (3 films): Mrs. Soffel, Hamlet, Braveheart.

* Carl Weathers (3 films): Happy Gilmore, Predator, Rocky IV.

De Niro died in Machete as well. And I have a feeling he will die in Limitless with Bradley Cooper.

And how do you count Ed Wood as a death for Johnny Depp? It happens off screen many years later...

Gary Oldman didn't die in Book of Eli...

This list is kinda really sh*tty!

De Niro doesn't die in Mean Streets; he just gets shot in the neck. And when does he die in This Boy's Life?

If he dies for real, then that opens the odds up for others.

Hey Rob,

when's the last time you've played an AIDS patient ?

@BradChadB33

Depp was actually in the first Nightmare on Elm Street.

And ironically, Kevin Bacon was in the first Friday the 13th.

i remember there being an article awhile ago that the black attention whore Queen Latefiah (I'm not sure how to spell her name, nor do I care) was complaining on how she always dies in her movies. Well OBVIOUSLY shes not on this list nor is she close to it, so no need for her to be a whore bitching about everything.
Carl Erik Rinsch writes:
on December 28th, 2010 at 1:26:43 PM

what about Danny Trejo, I remeber a few of his movies but always play tha bad guy and die, he died in that movie with Chow Yun Fat & Mark Whalberg, he died in XXX, he died in Desperado as well as in Once upon a time in Mexico, he died in predators, and in a bunch of movies that I dont remember right now, he should top the list...
Carl Erik Rinsch writes:
on December 28th, 2010 at 1:36:55 PM

By the way De Niro dont die in Godsend, im think he does, somebody know that...
minkowski writes:
on December 28th, 2010 at 3:11:09 PM

Danny Trejo has DeNiro beat IMO. He has died in every film he's every been in, AFAIK, and he says he does that deliberately to show kids that playing a bad guy always gets you killed.

Dunno about his philosophy, but he has a damned good cinematic death record.

But then if you throw in the death of DeNiro's career, well, Trejo has absolutely no chance.
