"Salt" Director Won't Return for Sequel

Posted: December 20th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Salt" Director WonSubmit Comment
Angelina Jolie's "Salt" grossed almost $300 million in worldwide ticket sales on a $110 million budget. Sony suggested that it will begin working on a sequel, but director Phillip Noyce has revealed that it will be without him.

"Those three Blu-ray cuts [of the film] represent just about everything I have to offer on Evelyn Salt," he told Moviehole. "If there ever is a sequel, better its directed by someone with a completely fresh take on what I believe could be a totally entertaining and complex series of stories."

Writer Kurt Wimmer has been working on ideas for how to advance the story of the spy thriller. Jolie, meanwhile, has already expressed interest in returning for the sequel.

I guess Pepper will be straight- to- dvd then and Vinegar will be released on fx as a three part mini series starring Stacey Slater from Eastenders.

Smart move on his part, because really the first one was not impressive at all.

Why even make a movie like this one if your not going to make a sequel

It was no Bourne but it was a decent movie

thats a shame.he did a fine job with the first one.

The first one was laughably bad. Phil Noyce showed he can do much better in Clear and Present Danger, so I really have no idea how did this abortion of a movie happen.

If they'll manage to inject some real action in the sequel - then maybe I'll see it. Don't even care about the screenplay - it can't get much worse anyway.

That's no good. Salt was an excellent action film, and I'm really looking forward to the sequel. It might not be the same seeing some copycat's vision of the project.

I took the first film with a grain of salt.

A little dark and bleak and grim and without much humor or light, but all in all a better than expected film. I don't think though the director made it what it was. I think the film relied on a decent script and fair performaces, so as long as Jolie returns and the sequel gets a solid script, it won't suck as much as one might expect.

Did anyone else get the shakes while watching Salt?

could have been an awesome movie if it was a male lead and didnt have jolie the whore failing in the action genre again

The villain should be a sweaty fat guy named The Slug.

"Salt" Director Won't Return for Sequel

Shame the writers, producers and star can't do the same.

hmm, I love this ridiculous twisted outrageous action movie but don't know what to think about a sequel. "Salt" was already way out of the top
