"The Three Stooges" May Cast UnknownsPosted: December 15th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
  At one point, Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro were attached to star in "The Three Stooges" movie, directed by the Farrelly brothers (Dumb and Dumber). Now, 20th Century has picked up the property and will begin production in March.
While the Farrellys are still on board, all three actors have dropped out. And to fill the spots of Larry, Curly and Moe, the studio has decided to put out a casting call, which means that anyone may be cast including unknowns.
All auditions will take place in January.
MOE: The unquestioned leader of the Three Stooges, Moe is a numbskull who barks orders and expects unquestioned obedience from his two hapless companions, Larry and Curly. STRONG VERBAL AND PHYSICAL COMEDY SKILLS REQUIRED - Age range early 30's to early 40's.
LARRY: An imbecile with an eccentric fringe of pullable frizzy hair, Larry is the bird-brained member of The Three Stooges, a victim of Moe's bullying and Curly's effervescent insanity. STRONG VERBAL AND PHYSICAL COMEDY SKILLS REQUIRED - Age range early 30's to early 40's.
CURLY: A chubby, bullet-headed idiot whose hair never grows more than an eighth of an inch, Curly is irrepressible, outgoing, unpredictable, and utterly chaotic. STRONG VERBAL AND PHYSICAL COMEDY SKILLS REQUIRED - Age range early 30's to early 40's.

Is Hollywood so hard up for material that they have to f*ckin rape their classic archives to reboot something that has no business being rebooted?
The Three Stooges was set around the 1930s and featured comedy vaudeville performances that were slapstick. They did schticks like satirizing the Nazis. This is a bygone comedy era. Let it go Hollywood. To attempt any recreation would be a bastard the memories of the Stooges.
Where the f*ck is Shemp?

If the ferrelly brothers are directing. I will hold out faith for this film.
I am sick of hearing about it at this point... The casting around this movie is f*cking retarded.
Keep the original cast. Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, Benicio Del Toro.
If they take care of it and pay homage to the era that theyre trying to portray, it could be quite good, given the direction team and source material.

Dane Cook or Carlos Mencia need not apply.
@max
I guessed they were/are looking for talented comedians.
