Disney Employees Hurting "Toy Story 3" Oscar ChancesPosted: December 13th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Disney has launched a major campaign to make sure "Toy Story 3" gets recognized during the Academy Awards. But an anti-Oscar campaign for "Toy Story 3" is also building, courtesy of unhappy Disney employees.
Some hotel workers at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and their union have scheduled a picket outside Disney Studios to coincide with a "Toy Story 3" screening for members of the Academy Awards. These workers will hold up signs reading "Don't Vote for Disney" and have even launched a website (NoToyStory3.org) to get their message out.
So why are they doing this? According to the union, Disney is demanding that employees change to a health care benefit plan that requires workers to pay "unaffordable" premiums. Most of the employees don't currently have to pay for health care.
Under the new Disney plan, a family of four would have to pay $365 a month. That can be a lot of money for bellmen, room attendants, cooks and dishwashers, who are currently receiving less than $9 an hour.
"We've done loads of public events about this issue, and people in Hollywood are usually very sympathetic and ask what they can do to help," said the union. "We're targeting 'Toy Story 3' because there are a lot of union people in the industry."

.... and since Uncle "Adolph" Disney died, Disney can't 'persuade' the 'help' to accept the cryogenic stasis chamber for tuberculosis, measles, mumps, cholera, smallpox, cancer, ghonnhrea, syphillis, etc ... which in turn saves Disney execs millions of dollars, which means more cocaine-fueled 'car key' parties, where they piss on their wives, dressed like Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck, all the while the male execs have beastility sodomy parties with German Shepherds they lovingly nickname "Goofy" ...
Oh. And Toy Story 3 ? It should've been renamed Schindler's FAO Schwartzwitz

$9 an hour.. That's truly terrible. America needs to change their minimum wage system. When I was studying and working part time in retail, I was getting $20 an hour.
But then again, alcohol in your country is very f*cking cheap. Cigarettes too.

Yah but what does that have to do with Pixar aside from association? It's like having a drunk for a brother who ruins your reputation because he exists.

Well, Disney should probably pay their employees more than 9 bucks an hour. I think they can afford it, right?
But who am I to argue against bottomless corporate greed?
On the other hand, health care isn't exactly a natural right.

yeah Pixar needs the recognition. just because they are owned by Disney... and pretty much makes all of Disney's money, doesn't mean that their creation should be sh*t on. take out Tangled and Alice.

i've got an idea, don't try to support a family on $9/hr. unions are annoying. I wonder how many of these people realize that if they paid the full amount of their plans that it would be in the neighborhood of $1,700. Be grateful that disney is paying any part of your plan. Whiny little bitches.

Good for them. A huge company like Disney should be able to provide decent health care for its employees.
