"Transporter" and "Taken" TV Series in the WorksSubmit Comment
Luc Besson's EuropaCorp has revealed that a US network has signed on for the new "Transporter" TV show, based on the hit movie trilogy starring Jason Statham, who plays a driver who delivers packages no questions asked.

The company won't say which network, but hints that "it's a big one." Shooting on the $48 million 12-part series will begin early 2011, with the first episodes set to be delivered by early November.

EuropaCorp is also developing an animated TV series based on "Arthur and the Invisibles" movie and is thinking about a "Taken" TV show, but only after "Taken 2" begins filming in the spring with Liam Neeson.

unsure bout Taken being made into a tv series....but Transporter could be cool...coz the movies were starting to wain a little...might and thats a big might freshen things up.
they gotta be done right though...gritty,action packed and decent stories...not like the re-hashes of Knight Rider etc

Taken... loved it, as I did the FIRST Transporter (the next one lost me when Jason jumped the car to peel the bomb off the bottom of it with the crane hook... WTF?!?!).

Taken... maybe good for one more sequel (before beating that dead dog).

The Transporter TV series... easy-peasy-Jap-an-easy!

I hope it's AMC, HBO or Showtime

Transporter would make a better TV series than Taken (i agree a sequel is the way to go with that).

Transporter 2 was ok some good action , but part 3 was really bad IMO.

Statham you have The Expendables now so no need to go back over this old ground again either at the cinema or on TV.

Jason re: The Expendables... exactly.

Too many of those Transporter movies and he'll be sharing the same stall in the ladies bathroom at the bus station with JCVanDouche.

taken would be a bad idea for a TV series i think, would cheapen the movie too, taken is all about the emotion of a father being a bad ass to get his daughter back, can they really stretch that over a series or more? if not they go for the ex special forces guy who finds different people every episode like a one man A Team......nah.

Transporter, yeah great for TV, like you said Ranger, that part with the bomb and the car lost me too, hate that sh*t, how it ever gets off the page and onto the screen i have no idea. But tone that sh*t down and crank up the speed and you have a good entertaining show.

I think I am the only person who didn't like taken....not saying it was bad but it is just not good to me.

CD_ - Not Taken with Taken :)

It was one of the only times a film was released here (uk) before the US so didn't really know to much about it (made a nice change), really enjoyed it.

Liam was a total badass which made the movie for me...

@ Big Daddy - I know, sucks! been picked up for a second series of 13 episodes but a year is too long, they have young kids in the cast too, hope they wise up and get it going sooner.
