Adam Sandler in Talks for "$40,000 Man" and "Narco"Submit Comment
Pajiba has learned that Adam Sandler has been offered the chance to play the lead in the "$40,000 Man" comedy, written by "Freaks and Geeks" actor John Francis Daley.

The movie centers on a legendary astronaut who finds himself horribly injured in a crash and is rebuilt by the government to be a bionic man, but on a measly budget of only $40,000, which makes him not that bionic.

Sandler is also attached to "Narco," a remake of the 2004 French film "The Secret Adventures of Gustave Klopp." The story revolves around a man who suffers from narcolepsy. He leads a very mundane life, except that when he falls asleep, he dreams of superheroes.

The other side of that coin is, I've been saying for YEARS now that Hollywood should (and I do NOT like reboots folks!!!)... Do a Bionic Man movie (Matrix quality). It's a GREAT story (not when Jamie went bionic too... then Max the f*cking bionic dog... give me a break). The original pilot/story is worth re-doing!

So this will be closer to the six million peso man?

Adam in a parody of the Six Million Dollar Man ? Maybe that can dig out archaic
Lee Majors out and have him play Adam's handler, Oscar.

And Rob Schneider ? Background Noise. Or maybe he's the astronaut, who doesn't survive the crash.

Sandler in a narcoleptic film about mundane life ? Not much of a stretch, it seems.

@Ranger I agree with you. Great story that COULD actually benefit from a remake.

But THIS idea?! Didn't Family Guy already air the same exact spoof? It lasted maybe fifteen seconds, I laughed, and they moved on. This doesn't have wings to keep me entertained for ninety minutes!

The pilot episode was exceptional (actually running at 60+ mph, none of that slo-mo crap they put into the weekly series). Anyone else remember when Jaime lost her memory and couldn't remember Steve?

@BadChadB33 & SebBaumer Adam Sandler's last movie, Grown Ups, grossed over $270 million and his salary was $25 million, so I don't think he's washed up or that his career is in the cemetery somehow!

I've posted that before. Sandler clearly has the best Agent in the biz.

The Six Million Dollar Man was a classic show. Lee Majors was perfect as Steve Austin.

I have the 1st 2 seasons on dvd and then they stopped releasing them here, i hope they will

Jamie losing her memory does ring a bell but i have not seen the show for years. I do remember him fighting Big Foot though (lol)

I want to shake the man's hand because he got to bone Farrah Fawcett (marrying her... well, ok, but he did get to bone her!).

Adam Sandler does a crappy parody bullsh*t version of the Six Million Dollar Man and I say we getting a hunting party together hunting Sandlers. Yep he gets paid $25 million a movie, and probably the only guy that has a face like a horse head pulling down those bills.

The older he gets, the more hideous his face looks. Only guy in Hollywood that has it worse then him when it comes to aging is Nick Cage.

Stay away from the Six million Dollar man you piece of sh*t! Otherwise I'll take my Steve Austin action doll with the bionic eye and beat your ass silly with it...

...The show was like the original Star Trek, so different from anything else that was on TV back then. And so much of it was instilled in everyone's memory back then. Only Hollywood would think of sh*tting on everyone's memories by making a sad ripoff starring Adam "Horseface" Sandler playing himself...again

f*ck you Hollywood
f*ck you Adam Sandler and the horseface you rode in on.

This movie is Hollywood in a nutshell.

This isn't even a spoof or a parody on 'The 6 Million Dollar Man' - it's disrespectful.

MOST of the movie-going audience today doesn't even remember the show with Steve and Oscar (and Rudy).

So, give an over-paid actor this movie, make it... yet don't have the balls to do an incredible re-make/introduction (Matrix-style) of the original story.

This is so you these days Hollywood.

JohnZee/ Ranger - Well said ...

And he got her to incorporate his name ( farrah fawcett majors) into her's so everyone knew who's she was..

Yep he's a cool guy..
