Jim Carrey's "Used Guys" Would've Been Like "Idiocracy"

Director Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Austin Powers) recently spoke about "Used Guys," a comedy that 20th Century Fox was planning to develop around 2005 with Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller. But then "Idiocracy" was released, barely making any money, killing the similar-themed "Used Guys" which would have cost around $100 million.

Roach has now revealed that the film would have taken place in a world where men have become extinct due to a combination of war and power-drinks that give energy, hair growth, muscle growth, and terminal cancer. Without men, women take over and develop a way to reproduce without Y-chromosomes. Clones of certain types of men remain as pleasure slaves. Carrey and Stiller were to play outdated pleasure clones trying to evade a recall.

The director then described some elements of the film like ovary-shaped cars that would be safe to drive and automatically apologize during collision. There would also be a fire alarm system for women that comes with a non-lethal water gun to use if pleasure clones begin to act up.

One sequence would include a trip to a museum that showed all of the stupid things humanity did when men were in charge. The exhibit ended with a display of childbirth, a totally foreign concept to women in this world.

Roach said that he would love to direct it if Fox ever gave him the chance, adding that "Little Miss Sunshine" directors Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton are also no longer involved with the project.

This idea sounds completely misogynist, offensive, and I wanna see it really badly. Why doesn't this movie exist?

Sounds sh*t to me.

It sounds too unrealistic. Ben Stiller is too ugly to be a pleasure slave in whatever time period or world.

Sounds like a bad combination of Bicentennial Man, Cherry 2000 and Y : The Last Man set to a canned laugh track (escpecially if Ben (Muggy McMuggstein) Stiller is involved.

You know, canned laughter is dead people.

Sounds like The Cable Man 2 : The Desperate Houselives of Chip Douglas.

Actually sounds like one of the more original movies I've ever heard of. They should make this film.
