Orlando Bloom to Return for "The Hobbit"Submit Comment
New Line Cinema just announced that Cate Blanchett will reprise her role of Galadriel in "The Hobbit" prequels. And now comes word from Deadline that many other actors from "Lord of the Rings" are nearing deals.

Orlando Bloom is in final negotiations to return as Elven archer Legolas. The site says that his role will be more than a cameo. Meanwhile Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Andy Serkis (Gollum) and Hugo Weaving (Elrond), whose characters appear in the book, are currently in talks.

"The Hobbit" will begin filming in February and last for a year. The film installment will then hit theaters in December of 2012. The second film will then follow a year later.

@velocity known

It's probably going to be a deleted scene.

It's the chapter that Tolkein added later, where Orlando's character gave Sir Ian's character a rimjob, so that he could learn the powers of the ring. Only, Sir Ian's character was just bullsh*tting him and appreciated the fact that Orlando's character's tongue was unsually long (like Gene Simmons) and could go up into parts of his sphincter that were like the character's G spot, all the while still massaging his balls, near Orlando's character's mouth.

I'll be fine with a cameo, considering he was never in the book cause Legolas was one badass wood elf lol

It's doubtful that they would waste money on a cameo--it's not as if the film series is decades old, or a remake/reboot.

If they don't feature in the book, then they won't feature in the film. And Legolas is not in the book.

They're having enough trouble getting everything organized, doubtful that while doing this they would be wasting their time thinking of who they could bring back from the Lord of the Rings for a cameo.

You are all forgetting that they are making it a 3 movie span of the Hobbit PLUS shards of manuscripts of the time in between The Hobbit and the LOTR plus adding their own 2 cents. Basically the first movie and a half will be the Hobbit and then after that they have a more free hand to add their own contributions to the storyline arc the bridge the distance in years what happens after The Hobbit but before The Fellowship begins.

I just hope they add Radagast The Brown in it!
