Wachowskis to Direct "Robin Hood" MovieSubmit Comment
Andy and Lana (formerly Larry) Wachowski are working with Warner Bros on "Hood," a modern, urban take on the Robin Hood myth. The duo wrote the script and will direct. They are already speaking to actors, including Will Smith.

The Wachowskis have been working on their Iraqi war movie, "CN-9," told from the point of view of archeologists piecing together events from the US occupation of Iraq using found footage and includes two male soldiers falling in love and a plot to assassinate George W. Bush. The controversial project has had trouble finding financing

And more recently, the two directors have started work on adapting David Mitchell's "Cloud Atlas" sci-fi novel. The new movie already have has Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Natalie Portman attached to star.

Sweet, another Robin Hood-movie. I can't get enough of these gems. Will it be gritty? Of course it will, it set in a urban environment.

Joke 1 : An urban update about a guy named Hood ? Were DMX and The Game busy ?

Joke 2 : Speed Racer must've f*cked you guys up bad.

Joke 3 : Soooooo .... dressing up as an ugly transvestite must be f*cking with your selection process, hunh ?

Lana Wachowski ? Let me guess. Andy plays 'Superman' every night in your reenactment of "Superman Barges The Backdoor".

This project sounds as disturbing as that video that ranger put up of che and his dad horsing around.expectt some brokeback moments with leather bondage and razorblade dildos and a white black man Will Smith playing robin hood.

Is amazing how much a sex change can f*ck ur head up

With movies like that, no wonder why some of these hollywood studios are going bankrupt

Who is going to watch that

I know what they could do, send it to our tortured prisoners bored with the Polar Express

A Gothic Robin Hood. Wow, I'm so gonna pass. Then again I cant be any worse than the sh*tfest Russell Crowe did this year.

A modern-day Robin Hood is something I can get into.
And any interpretation would be better than that snoozefest with Russel Crow.

The notion of a totalitarian future dominated by the values of the far right looking back on the present day where two gay men struggle to exist in a culture where the issue is still sort of on the table.. doesn't really sound that bad. I don't know about the plot to assassinate george bush bit.. but..
In general the idea has potential..

Robin Hood on the other hand... I think we've had enough of him.
Aaron writes:

.. but I liked Speed Racer, so my opinion is moot.
