New "Judge Dredd" Set Photos Appear OnlineSubmit Comment
The new "Judge Dredd" movie is currently preparing for production in Cape Town, South Africa, and today we have several photos from the set, showing some not-very-futuristic vehicles that will be used in the $45 million 3D remake. Check out the photos below.

Plot: "Dredd" takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot - if necessary.

The film is directed by Peter Travis (Vantage Point) from a script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine). "Dredd" is expected to appear in theaters in 2012.

Must've gotta a hell of a deal on these Robocop leftover vehicles.

Well, at least we won't have the flying cycles, the green screen ... or Rob Schneider.

As far as comics go, I've only read Judge Dredd vs. ALIENS...but it does look like they're going for a less futuristic approach.

The Stallone Dredd did look a little more futristic didn't it, Is this going to be set in Dagenham ?

dude, if he's wearing the suit from the pic inside one of those cars, that's going to look ultra gay... i hope this is a "mega-city's beginning" kinda set, showing the backstory, and not what the whole movie is gonna look like

lol... last picture: 'You are being watched!'

I suspect they're not talking to this movie about it's viewers.

I like it. I prefer more realistic future tales. A hundred years from now, the world is not going to look like an alien metropolis planet from Star Wars. Flying cars will never be a reality.
I hate when things stray too far from the comics, but realism is always a nice touch as well, and it will definitely set apart from the cartoony Stallone version.
