DreamWorks Planning Six "Kung Fu Panda" Films

DreamWorks Planning Six "Kung Fu Panda" FilmsSubmit Comment
Empire caught up with DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, who revealed that the studio knows exactly how many installments each franchise will get.

"I can tell you pretty succinctly where 'Madagascar' goes," he said. "Ultimately they will come back to New York, and they will come to terms with that, which they will do in this next chapter. Because of the way that movie concludes there's probably one more for them. There’s probably a fourth there."

Katzenberg continued: "'Kung Fu Panda' actually has six chapters to it, and we've mapped that out over the years. 'How To Train Your Dragon' is at least three: maybe more, but we know there are a least three chapters to that story. There are actually 8 books."

So there you go, expect two more "Madagascar" films, five more "Kung Fu Panda" installments and two more "How to Train Your Dragon."

It just boggles the mind who's in charge of getting things made and the ideas they come up with.

Eh, they'll just reboot it in a few years anyway, so what's the point?

Well Jean Claude,

See how much you can suck out of the marrow of this series, seeing as how you passed on the first Expendables, Brainiac.

@Bunny X

I have a sneaking suspicion that Joel Silver's fingerprints are all over this sh*t.

Every time he get interested in a movie, you can feel the Dramamine helping to keep you from throwing up after the first hour of the movie.

Wow... I loved the first Kung Fu Panda and I don't see how there could be 6 of those movies and it still be remotely decent. Honestly whats wrong with 3? 3 is a fine number. For that matter whats wrong with ONE.

I vote to time travel back into the past to eliminate the first Kung Fu Panda film, thus ending this annoying quandry.
