The Lizard and Flash Thompson Confirmed for "Spider-Man" Reboot

The Lizard and Flash Thompson Confirmed for "Spider-Man" RebootSubmit Comment
About a month ago, THR reported that John Slattery ("Mad Men") and Sam Elliott (The Hulk) were being considered to play Daily Bugle Editor-in-Chief J Jonah Jameson in "Untitled Teen/Action Film," which is obviously the new "Spider-Man" movie.

CBM now found a video of Stuart Allan also auditioning for "Untitled Teen/Action Film." Allan looks to be around 9-year-old and is attempting to get cast in the role of Billy. While the description doesn't mention anything else, Billy is actually the young son of Curt Connors, who eventually becomes The Lizard. And the scene that Allan reads clearly shows that "Spider-Man" will show Connor's transformation into the villain. If you weren't sure before, this pretty much confirms that that's the character Rhys Ifans will play.

The site also found Chris Zylka (My Super Psycho Sweet 16) confirming that he was cast in "Spider-Man" on his Twitter account. It is being said that he'll play Eugene "Flash" Thompson, who is a star high school football player and classmate of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). While he bullies Parker, he also admires Spider-Man.

This is definitely turning into fag-central.

The subtle irony is that if they choose Sam Elliot as J Jonah Jameson then it will tie that sh*tburger Ghost Rider to this sh*tburger, in that Sam will have played two characters from two doomed Marvel franchises ....

and if they choose John Slattery as J Jonah Jameson, it will tie Iron Man 2 (since John played Tony's father in the "found" footage of the first Stark Expo), which was a less steaming pile, but steaming nonetheless to this steaming pile of rhinoceros (another Spidey villain : The Rhino) dung, since John too will play two completely different characters in the Marvel Universe.

I thought J.K. Simmons was great as J.Jonah Jameson and it won't be neaarly as good seeing someone else playing him

Still at a loss to why they felt they had to kick Raimi off of Spiderman in the 1st place.

J.K. Simmons was perfect as Jameson i like Sam but he's not for this...

This should not be called a reboot because it looks like they are going down the same road as before.

Very bubblegum action kid friendly film, If that is the case where is the rock or Brenden Frasier?

Make that 3 characters... he played Ross in Ang Lee's Hulk

@jay-c. Nicely done, I was just about to cry that out. He was great as Ross anyway.

of course flash is going to be in it, he has to be the mean high school bully that pushes peter around!

trailertrash, the real reason they booted Raimi was to save a couple hundred million on the budget.

The trifecta that is Sam Elliot.

J.K. Simmons is irreplaceable after his performances as JJJ. Were there ever perfect casting in Hollywood... that was it!

PS: The Lizard should have been the villain TWO MOVIES AGO!!!

I am telling you guys, Sony dumped Raimi because it's wants a male twilight movie/fan crazy. What they don't understand is that men, or boys, don't have the same hystaria hormone running through their bodies as the twilight fans do. This movie is going to BOMB, like a shiite in a crowded marketplace

also, lindsey lohan is a whore
FBO writes:

and shannon price is also a whore... and a murderer. Although, I am willing to bet that lohag has already had a few abortions, but atleast she's murdering defenseless babies instead of defenseless men the size of babies...

Rabid-

Then this new movie has to hit the $600mil plus worldwide to make that the right play for sony , Can't see that happening.

If they had done Spider Man 4 and kept all on board it could have been the biggest of the series.

This will do X-Men type Boxoffice business at best.

I think Sam Elliott could do a good job as Jameson, and I do like him as an actor.....

BUT..................

As others have said, J.K. Simmons was PER-FECT as Jameson, and IMO, one of the highlights of the Raimi trilogy. Going to be very hard to top his performance.

FBO:

Very astute commentary regarding the Twilight-ization of Spiderman.

I think Sony realized they just weren't making enough money. They had to pay Raimi, Douchebag and Kirsten c*nt too much cash, plus the film was tanking on it's on bloated storyline baggage while also sliding out of the target (ka-ching!) demographic.

In other words, c*nt and Douchebag are too old, the story was too stale and Raimi wants too much money because he's worth it.
