"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Reboot Moving Forward

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Reboot Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
Producer Charles Roven (The Dark Knight, Twelve Monkeys) and his Atlas Entertainment production company has teamed with Warner Bros to reboot "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Whit Anderson is writing the script for the new feature film.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" first appeared as a film in 1992, subsequently becoming a cult hit and spawning the wildly popular television series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, among many others.

"Whit approached us with an exciting idea about how to update 'Buffy,'" said Roven. "There is an active fan base eagerly awaiting this character's return to the big screen. Details of the film are being kept under wraps, but I can say while this is not your high school Buffy, she'll be just as witty, tough, and sexy as we all remember her to be."

Warners optioned the rights to the franchise from creators Fran and Kaz Kuzui.

For one thing, films that become cult hits do so because of unique circ*mstances. You cannot recreate what may otherwise be a minor miracle.

Second, they're just doing this to cash in on the Twilight trend, so expect this film to look more like those movies and less like the original Buffy.

Third, the original film was ok, but hardly deserving either a remake or a sequel, so again it sounds like they're just trying to cash in on the Twilight trend, a trend that increasingly transforms young men into emasculated pussies and women into vapid minded morons.

So yeah, no more.

I hear Hollywood producers are lobbying the military-industrial complex to have scientists secretly construct a Manhattan-type Project for time traveling back to the 80s, just so they can destroy what's left.

@Ted

Hate to tell ya, buddy ... they are planning to do this.

If ANYTHING needs a remake into a movie, it's Misfits of Science.

Or Freakylinks.

Personally, I wanna spread Kristi Swanson's asscheeks apart and drive my stake deep where Angels fear to tread.

I have another suggestion :

Nikolai Gogol as Buckaroo Banzai : adventurer/surgeon/rock star w/ band and

Steve Buscemi as Dr. Emilio Lizardo, his arch-nemesis in :

Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League

with Chow Yun Fat as Hanoi Xan, the Crime League's leader.

@minkowski

Exactly!

Case in point, three perfect examples :

A. Time Bandits

B. Monty Python and the Holy Grail / Or Life of Brian / Or Monty Python's Meaning of Life

C. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

This is so f***ed up.

Roven is just on a confidence spree. However, I swer if they try to mess with Angel, WB's someone's blood will stain walk of fame.

I have a small suggestion for the film; make sure buffy is a hot big titted bimbo, then make it to where the only way she can kill a vampire is if she rapes it first, then just as the vamp gets off she stabs him in the heart.
