Channing Tatum in Talks for "21 Jump Street"Submit Comment
Sony Pictures is now meeting with actors for the upcoming "21 Jump Street" movie, which will be directed by "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Deadline is reporting that Channing Tatum is at the top of the list to play the lead, alongside Jonah Hill, who is also writing and producing. Both Tatum and Hill look youthful, which is what the studio is looking for. The movie focuses on undercover cops who infiltrate schools to fight crime.

"21 Jump Street" will begin shooting early next year and will then hit theaters on March 16th, 2012. Hill, meanwhile, is working on getting Johnny Depp, who starred in the original TV show, to cameo in the movie.

I wish Tatum would just go up a 21 foot building and JUMP down head first

@Johnny

Amen to that. I hope Depp will do the same.

Channing Tatum in Talks for "21 Jump Street" ... give him Grieco's character, so we can easily dismiss he's even there.

If they wanted the craft services table to act in the movie, why not just sign up the table to be filmed in the shot ? It has about as much range as Stockard Channing TaterNuts there ...

Channing Tatum : When you want to watch a wigger b-boy wannabe stucco pose under the guise of "acting" and you can't get Marky Mark Wahlberg, accept no substitutes.

You can tell by the pic he just satisfied the director to get a role in this.

I honestly think they should go all new fresh faces with this and avoid tagging this onto some big name star. Granted, it would be cool to have Depp in this as the top guy running the whole group but they really need to avoid putting names to the other roles.

@trailertrash LMAO! What the hell happened to Nookie??

"Both Tatum and Hill look youthful, which is what the studio is looking for. The movie focuses on undercover cops who infiltrate schools to fight crime."

Jonah Hill may have looked youthful a few years ago when he was in Superbad but I don't think he looks that youthful now. Channing Tatum doesn't really look that young either, not school age young anyway. They should cast Justin Chatwin. He could pass for a teenager even though he's actually 28! And for the fat guy they could cast Andy Milonakis, he's actually 34!! (Seriously!!!)

If Justin Beiber get's hired to play the Johnny Depp character, I say someone should hire a couple of goons to firebomb the set.

Channing must give the world's most orgismic blowjobs, why else would ANY director give this no-talent ass clown a job. And Hill is nowhere near funny. He's a pathetic excuse of an actor. Channing & Hill are to acting as Obama is to leardership.

Boy, I bet Channing could suck a c*ck right and take one right up the arse ....

uhm, too much ?

Richard Grieco could not be reached for initial comment. It's hard for him to get a cellphone signal seeing how he has no phone and lives in a cardboard box, under the passway.

Depp is cameo-ing ? Boy, he's really got f*cking talk with his agent and ask, " What the f*ck, Mort ? I worked hard for people to forget that gig! Tell that short, fat Rogan wannabe to f*ck off! "

Channing Tatum to acting is like the Ebola Virus to a ravaged, desperate third world country.

Depp already said he'd love to cameo. (This movie has been in the making for quite some time now).

I don't think Depp would really cameo. But I hope he at least trashes a hotel room on this flick's opening weekend as he recalls the craziness of youth.

Greeeat, a film set in high school starring one guy with no talent and another guy with no restraint. Sounds like a win. And the fat guy is set to write AND produce?

Damn, how can this NOT fail? After all, GI JOE was a bang up, what with the fine talent on display from Ham 'n Tater.

But hey, we all want to see one hack and one unfunny slob troll high school, with all the accompanying sophomoric humor, pretending to be cops, while making cracks and exposing one big hairy ass crack, right?

Johnny Depp should be the new Sergeant playing his old character, then it would follow on from the show.
