Marvel Developing Three Live-Action TV Series

Posted: November 8th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Marvel Developing Three Live-Action TV SeriesSubmit Comment
We recently learned that Disney will move forward with a live-action "The Incredible Hulk" TV series, based on the Marvel character. And now, Disney CEO Robet Iger revealed that there will be two more shows in the works.

"We're developing three live-action series for ABC and ABC Family," he revealed. But which characters will the other two shows be based on?

According to a THR article from about three weeks ago, suggests that Disney/Marvel are also looking to develop a "Cloak and Dagger" TV series for ABC Family. "The Punisher" is also being considered.

Question: Which Marvel character should get his/her own live-action TV series?

TV Live action for Marvel? I smell major flop.

For abc family? Gay. Plus the FCC would sh*t all over themselves if the punisher was made, the right way of course. Put it on show time that way they can put Thomas Jane on it. He'll be Hung and Punisher.

Punisher would be cool

What time will it be aired

8pm or 3am

Punisher with Big d*ck? That'll be a very interesting concept.

They didn't learn anything from the Blade tv series did they?

@boogiel-just in case you didn't know, Hung is a tv show on showtime. Just want that to be known so that people don't think I'm gay, or as the WP community calls it, "Jake" and/or "vin/dandy"

I've been saying for a while they need to do a comic book series on HBO or Starz or one of those channels. Where they don't have any limits. Can you imagine how bloody and crazy a 'Deadpool' series would be on HBO? Look at what they do with TrueBlood?

The smartest series to do would be Marvel Knights, where the cast could rotate between all the aforementioned characters. Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight, Daredevil, Shang-Chi, Heroes 4 Hire, Cloak and Dagger, Dr. Strange... they could all perfectly complement each other without owning the show.

CCBlev, the Blade series was actually pretty good. It got cancelled because they put it on Spiketv, a network that nobody watches and many people don't receive.

How the hell are they going to air Punisher on ABC or ABC Family!?! Unless they're considering one of the premium channels where they can be graphic I'm not sure it works. Maybe one of the cable channels that has a track record of good original programming like FX or AMC. But they'd have to suggest more than they show in terms of violence. Sounds like a guaranteed flop.

If they're doing the Hulk, and he's appearing in the Avenger's movie, I bet they'll be doing an Ant Man tv show. It would fit the network tv format.

my guess for the 3:
Power Pack for the kiddie audience.
Cloak/Dagger for the teens
Hulk for the adults.

Certainly not Captain America, the TV Series. They tried that once with Reb Brown, back in 1979 and I'm not looking forward to the "Cap Helmet" and "Cap-cycle" again.

How about ressurecting Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, to better rape my youth ?

Disney will move forward with a live-action "The Incredible Hulk" TV series, based on the Marvel character.

Again, Lou Ferrigno has his phone on vibrate for the cameo request, since he f*cking can't here the '78-'79 show ringtone.

Bill Bixby ? Can't be reached for comment.

Wasn't Gaudion the Smurf that got buttf*cked by Azreal and begged Gargamel to take his life in Season One ... then was found in a tub in his little Smurf hut, floating in a pool of his little blueberry coloured blood ?

I'm praying to God this isn't accurate, any of these shows on a channel like ABC Family would fail. They would need to be on a premium channel, nothing else would allow them to be true enough to the content.

How would the Punisher be on ABC Family? The Punisher pursues the villains and, through carefully worded and stern-but-caring lectures, gets them to see the error of their ways. Then, after convincing them to not continue with their evil schemes, they all talk about the lessons they've learned. Sounds awesome.........

Well, in the comics John Byrne did turn up the heat with She-Hulk, making her somewhat of a sex symbol .... maybe that trainer Jillian from The Biggest Loser ?

x-men
spiderman
i know it's not marvel, but either batman or superman
they need a live action x-men like the cartoon we used to have on FOX KIDS that show was amazing and a live action version would be sweet.
minkowski writes:

A live-action Incredible Hulk television show....because the 2003 and the 2008 films were such rip-roaring success stories, right?

And we already had a Punisher TV series that was actually awesome. Fox called it '24'.
minkowski writes:
on November 8th, 2010 at 8:50:12 PM

And Punisher, yeah, like we need a fist-f*cking of the story like The Sarah Connor Chronicles did to the Terminator franchise, which IMO consists of only two films. I said TWO goddamnit! Not three, not four.

The only good Punisher film, btw, was the one with Lundgren, but only because you know that's what he did with his life after wasting Apollo Creed, nearly killing Rocky and escaping from a Siberian work camp. A really unluck guy, that Ivan Dr...I mean Frank Castle, as per the witness relocation program.

And one more thing: how does a guy with such a bad ass f*cking name like Frank Castle get to be such a f*cking p*ssy-whipped little girl in the Thomas Jane film? I mean, his name isn't Tommy Littlebitch, it's FRANK CASTLE.

If I could, I'd change my name to something just like that, and wear a Punisher T-shirt 24/7. Pure bad-motherf*cking-ass all the way, boys, girls and those in between.

So, just once, Jane, be a bad ass. You were a p*ssy in a History of Violence, and the Myst, too. So what's up with that?
Bunny X writes:
on November 9th, 2010 at 11:23:14 AM

@rabid, you're right, the Blade series was underrated. And I really didn't mind Sticky fingaz in the lead. And I love your Marvel Knights idea. It would give all the characters a chance in their own story. My only concern would be it would be so watered down because they'd essentially only be focusing their efforts into one episode.
This was my fear when Disney bought Marvel. All this ABC/ABC Family talk scares the hell out of me because there's no way in the world these characters get the proper treatment on those channels. I too would love to see a superhero show on channels that allow a lot more leverage in what they show.
frost-ogre writes:
on November 10th, 2010 at 6:43:21 PM

I vote Punisher goes on A&E. Its the only adult cable network Disney owns. It can't go on HBO 'cuz thats owned by TimeWarner, who in turn owns DC comics, Marvel's direct competitor. And it can't go on Showtime 'cuz thats owned by CBS, ABC's direct competitor. Maybe they could work a deal with Liberty/STARZ. I believe they're neutral. But A&E would reach a wider audience though.
