"Deadpool" Will Show Three Phases of Wade Wilson

"Deadpool" Will Show Three Phases of Wade WilsonSubmit Comment
"Zombieland" writer Rhett Reese spoke to io9 about the upcoming "Deadpool" movie, stating that he and writing partner Paul Wernick have already finished two drafts of the script and are now waiting for a director to be attached. We recently heard that little-known Swedish commercial director Adam Berg is in talks.

"We want to explore how [Deadpool] became that way and why he became that way, we definitely delve into that," said Reese. "He's a warped character, and that's why he's so fun to write. Because he's completely crazy. That's the joy of writing him. You don't have to place any limits on decorum, or what might pop into his head, what reference he might make to pop culture. He'll go anywhere and say anything and that's the joy of writing him. So we really enjoy that but we also did enjoy exploring a little bit of his origin."

He added that the movie will show all three phases of Deadpool. Reese said: "I think there's a good balance in the movie of seeing Wade Wilson pre-Deadpool and seeing his scarred face post-becoming Deadpool and having the mask on which is how most comic fans envision Deadpool, is with the mask on."

Go Adam!

It's sad that they can't get Reynolds for this, but he is still replaceable.

Reynolds all the way. While he's filming this I'll be taking care of his wife's needs till he gets back.

He needs to be in the full comic get up. If not this film will be as bad as the Cena Supes

Nooo, not the full comic sotume. That thing is just retarded and needs a serious overhaul for the movies.
But the mask... The mask should stay the same.

@rabid

While I agree (as a Deadpool fan) that the spandex would be awful looking on screen, if they made it more applicable to what could be designed and created by fabric designers in real life, I would be very optomistic ... for example, the new Captain America : The First Avenger costume doesn't look too far off from the design of the comic book costume in regards to design, but is more practical (to the era he existed in and the enviroment he would be in) and even more graphically asthetic. Also, remember that Deadpool was originally created by Rob(ert) Liefeld, the accused assaulter of no elbows, pointy feet, 10,000 pouches on every belt and more guns on one character than a Humvee could carry, so it's very f*cking amazing that a character he created (other than Cable) could come out unscathed (despite his sh*t on a shingle face) ... so I will give them a chance on costuming.

And yes, the mask should remain exactly the same.

They make the bugger sound like the Benny Hill of the Marvel Universe.

Repeat after me:

Ryan Reynolds has already signed up to do another film project limiting the possibility of him doing Deadpool in the next three years even more.

Marvel isn't even seriously looking for another director to helm this project.

The screenwriters who wrote the script are sitting there doing nothing waiting for Marvel to make any sort of move or decision on this project.

Ryan Reynolds is a Deadpool fan. And sadly the only reason he hasn't announced that he won't be playing Deadpool and has to permanently pull out of the project is because he doesn't want to disappoint DeadPool fans.

But don't worry, he will soon.

And really DeadPool fans by their very nature should be pretty damned used to disappointment...

Actually he said in a Green Lantern interview a couple weeks back that he's excited and ready to go with the Deadpool movie, when asked if it was still on.
rabid writes:

and Marvel isn't looking for a director for good reason.
Marvel isn't making this film.

How many f*cking ways does this guy gotta explain how much he ENJOYS writing for this character. And How much JOY he's getting out of it.

I am getting the feeling this guy is Michael J. Fox repeating sh*t.

Could you imagine what the f*cking script is like!?

If this isn't rated R it will be terrible.
Big_Daddy writes:

@ Rabid

yeah not full Spandex that would be awful
like Nihilistic said a practical version like Caps new costume. And the mask should be a little different but close to the same like Michael Myers new mask for Halloween or hell even the make up from the Joker was good. A complete re visioning of the original but now I don't see the joker in any other way.

In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (I'll be that guy)Deadpool had the traditional costume however it did not appear to be spandex but was Leather.
lostwarrior writes:

this wont happen, and if it does, it wont be what people expect cuz of the hype that is already behind it. And im sure Ryan would love to do this film. And in all honesty I think that the writers behind crank and crank 2 would do dead pool justice.
gotsghostrider writes:

They've already got a finished script from the Zombieland guys everyone who's reviewed the leaked script has been pleased with it, there's no reason not to make it.
