"Zombieland 2" Won't Top Bill Murray Cameo

Posted: November 7th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Zombieland 2" WonSubmit Comment
In an interview with io9, writer Rhett Reese (Zombieland) gave an update on the upcoming sequel to "Zombieland," which grossed over $100 million on a $23 million budget.

He explained that he's currently working on the script with writing partner Paul Wernick. The original gang of four (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin) will continue on their journey across America, but this time, they will be joined by a some new survivors.

Reese added that Bill Murray's cameo in the first film will be impossible to top, so the sequel won't even try. Instead, the new movie will have plenty of creative uses for 3D.

"We're making 'Z2' a bigger movie. Everything will happen on a grander scale," said the writer. "[The original cast] all want to [return]. That said, none of them have seen the script yet. And if they love it or don't love it, that might impact their decision."

Good call. But if a great idea does pop up feel free to try to over top it if it seems possible.

Don't like "have plenty of creative uses for 3D". Makes it sound gimmicky and like it will only have zombies getting thrown at you.

Zombie Mel Gibson
You should just smile and blow... his brains out with a shotgun
He gets killed on screen so even those who hate him get what they want

Please, dont make it 3D, because I will have to wait for BR to see it.

@Monash
Zombie Mel Gibson would be great, but I don't think it's possible - they would replace him. :)

Can't wait for this!! I don't care if its in 3D up JC's ass. I'll still see it.

This is exactly what I hate about smaller succeful first films. They get a bigger budget for the sequel and decide to go bigger when the smaller scale worked perfectly the first time around. Glad all are coming back and that they're not going to try to gimmick Murray's cameo. But 3D??? sheesh

So the actors won't be as good, the actor's haven't seen the script, it's going to be "grander" and in 3D........so......in essence it's a sequel.

Maybe they could get a Zombie Richard Simmons, his rotting testicles swinging in the breeze like those Kinetic Balls you would find on an office desk, below his shorts, running after them .... sweating to the gories ... or a Zombie Kenny G ... well ... being Zombie Kenny G .... or maybe a Zombie Al Gore .... although noone could tell ...

Bunny hit the nail on the head again.

They have done just this in:

The Matrix, Star Wars, Paranormal... the list is endless. WHY NOT stick with the EXACT same formula that made the first movie sequel-worthy?!?!

@Ranger

Because they meet some Jabba the Hutt sized producer at the movie studio that convinces them to " think bigger, think grander scale " ... all the while seducing them with easily accessed drugs, even easier accessed actresses "auditioning" with more plastic on their body than the production factory that makes Mastercard and Visa cards and the fantastical thought that "this will be their breakout hit series ... you know ... like that series going on right now .... what's the name of it *circles chubbby finger in air* ?.... oh, yeah....SAW! "

Maybe what they can do,but this only workers if they make 2 more sequels after this one,is to have Dan Aykroyd,Harold Ramis,and Ernie Hudson as cameos in each of the movies.

Have a cameo from Chuck Norris. Chuck bites the Zombie and turns it into Chuck Norris, then out of cosmic balance, Chuck round houses the much more deadlier ChuckZombie into unexistance.

one of them must die I'm not saying how but one of the main characters should become a zombie.... you better film it in 3D or it shouldn't be in 3D.
