Thanks to AICN, we now have the official poster for the upcoming "Hobo With a Shotgun" movie, which is based on the faux trailer that appeared with Canadian released of "Grindhouse."

In the film, Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) plays the Hobo, a homeless vigilante who blows away crooked cops, pedophile Santas, and other scumbags with his trusty pump-action shotgun. Dave Brunt, the man who played the hobo in the original trailer will appear as a cop in the movie.

"Hobo With a Shotgun" is directed by Jason Eisener, who created the trailer for a "Grindhouse" competition. He then went on to make a great short film called "Treevenge." It is being rumored that "Hobo" will appear at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

maybe it's a homage

I really hope this will be as good as the trailer. 'Machete' was a huge disappointment.

Rutger is part of the Court Royale of B movies (along with Bruce Campbell). That alone gives it enough cred to check it out.

Love Hauer, no doubt. He was the man in The Hitcher for sure, but I'm not sure I can take seriously anything coming from the man who made a short film about trees killing people.

That might have possessed some good horror elements, but it was an incredibly stupid plot, which requires a suspension of not only disbelief, but a person's entire ability to think rationally.

Oh yes, Treevenge, where tree's murder children. Just awesome. Right? What's not to love about laughing over a scene where a baby get's it's head bashed in?

I wonder how awesome some would find Treevenge if they had a loved one brutally murdered? Someone should murder one of Eisener's loved ones, that is if he has one, and then ask him if he thinks this kind of crap is still awesome. I'd pay ten tickets price just to see and hear his answer.

But I still think Hauer's awesome. Sad he has to sink this f*cking low, though, when he had the talent and gravitas to do better in his golden years.

Wow Minkowski... wow. Hmmm.. Sounds like he touched on some kind of sore point with you. Did YOU by any chance ever have a loved one killed by a tree before?
