Mary Jane Watson is NOT in "Spider-Man" RebootSubmit Comment
Last month it was announced that five actresses were competing for the roles of Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot. We then found out that Emma Stone (Easy A) was cast as Gwen Stacy, leaving the other actresses to battle for the Mary Jane Watson part.

Since then, we found out that Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) will play The Lizard, Martin Sheen will play Uncle Ben and Sally Field is in talks to play Aunt May. But there is still no announcement about Mary Jane.

Now comes word from The Wrap that Mary Jane will not appear in the film. The character is not in the latest or any of the older script by James Vanderbilt.

kirsten dunst was the worst thing on raimi spider-man films. most of the cast members were horrible but she was just annoying as f*ck (especially on the last film)she failed miserably to play mj plus i find her very very ugly (mj should be BEAutiful). she was just f*cking garbage. SONY YOU f*ckS! LISTEN UP MOTHERf*ckERS, DON'T f*ckING REPLACE J.K. SIMMONS CAUSE NO ONE, NO f*ckING ONE ON THIS PLANET CAN PLAY JONAH BETTER THAN THAT GUY.

dunst was ok in the first spiderman but extremely annoying in the sequels as being a bitchy ungrateful child.

I read somewhere that Elisha Cuthbert auditioned to play the role back in 2002. She would have been the perfect MJ.

I don't give a s**t!

Spiderman is trash next to the Dark Night and a puny wimp close to Iron Man.

I'm not even so into Emma Stone as all fo you are, so f**k this!

I think people are into Stone because she has that "I don't wash my face" white-trash appeal, along with a look that says "I like getting f*cked in the ass, with a full-on facial".

She's really not very attractive.

And what's the deal? No MJ in Spiderman? Hmm, sounds like they have little confidence in this film, then, by already cutting out elements they fear will detract from the audience.

Yeah, ok, so it's a good idea to remove the love angle, a known and time-honored audience draw, but doing a unnecessary reboot with a fairly unknown lead, for a beat-down and exhausted franchise, only a few years after the first film trilogy run, is a good decision?

ugh obviously none of you on here ever read a comic book when you were younger otherwise youd know this is following the original early comic books almost dead on. peter was in high school, the lizard i dont think was the first villain but was one of them, and gwen stacy was peters first "true love". after that it was, i think her names betty? but the secretary chick at the daily bugle. then after she had a hate for spiderman it didnt work out. incomes felecia aka black cat. and thennn theres mary jane. so heres more proof that raimi (post spidey1 and the story/script dialogue and villain for spidey2) didnt really know what the f*ck he was doing and was basically going in reverse.

i maybe the only one but im looking forward to this because so far it has some really great talent behind it and is actually sticking to the comics unlike most superhero flicks anymore.
