Warner Bros Wants "Inception" Sequel

Posted: October 22nd, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Warner Bros Wants "Inception" SequelSubmit Comment
Originally, Warner Bros agreed to let Christopher Nolan make his "Inception" movie as part of his agreement to direct the third "Batman" installment. But "Inception" went on to gross over $810 million on a $160 million budget, and now, the studio wants a sequel.

Nolan will likely never agree to direct another installment, but he may decide to let another filmmaker further explore the world he created while overseeing the whole thing. Either way, the studio is very serious about moving forward.

It's not clear which direction an "Inception" sequel could go since everything wrapped up nicely in the first film, but let's hope this doesn't become some cheap straight-to-DVD installment. Stay tuned.

As good as it was... i dont think it needs a sequel. Some projects are just better as stand alones.

it is clear they gotta be doing for the money because inception was the dogs bullocks and I have a bad feeling that they are gonna f*ck the sequal up, like they have for some many other movies in hollywood

The studio didn't learn the most basic lesson from Inception: Well-made original movies sell like hot-cakes! Making sequels and sh*t is wholly unnecessary, just focus on making good movies instead of trying to ring as much as you can out of one idea.

Funny how the studio did'nt really want "Inception" but "because it made all that money" and it showed that us the paying public want movies that make us think and question things and don't mind being mind f*cked now and again.

f*ck YOU WARNERS YOU RETARD CAKE EATING RETARDS!

Ted Mosby via Steve Carrell said it best.

- they won't make it straight-to-dvd (when a movie makes close to 820mil you don't even consider sequel to go straight to dvd)
- let's hope Nolan will direct it if it happens
- let's hope it'll be a prequel so they wouldn't have to answer questions raised by original movie
- expect the talks about "we're seriously considering it if the script is amazing" to start soon. "We are very emotionally invested in this project, as the original movie is such an amazing and beloved piece of cinema". Bla-bla-bla.

WB, you took a jackpot by investing money in an ORIGINAL movie by talented filmmaker. Get the clue?

Will NOT see a sequel unless Nolan directs.
nope.com writes:
on October 23rd, 2010 at 12:59:56 AM

lmao.. where would you go from there WB? The story ended despite all the ridiculous arguments people made about that ending

Go with another original story from Nolan, I'm sure he and his brother can cook up more insane sh*t together.
synthetic1985 writes:

agreed, let Nolan decide if a sequel is possible, it's his idea...and it was his idea alone that made the money after warner bros didn't want it...anybody else trying to add to the view would only ruin it for fans...i'm with everybody here, if Nolan directs a sequel i'll give it a watch, but only if he's making the sequel in full confidence, if he's just getting paid to make a sequel, that can't mean it'll be as good as the first one

Eben1277 writes:

Well... let me see... 810 million, on a 160 million dollar budget. WB should soon be claiming they lost money on it to screw Nolan out of the back end.

Goddamnit. I know that they don't take IQ-tests when becoming a Hollywood exec, but seriously, is some f*cking common sense that much to ask for? The sole reason 'Inception' made a sh*t ton of money was that it was Nolan's dreamproject (no pun intended). He laid his whole soul in it and it took him a couple of years. Now that he has done it, he has no reason to do a sequel and there's no one who can pick it up after him. And big-shots in Warner should know that, if it weren't for the fact that their combined intelligence is lower that a retarded snail.

Warners, you don't even need a sequel. Just give Christopher Nolan whatever the f*ck he wants. Then you'll get what you want. Everybody wins. But no f*ckING sequel, alright? OK.

BTW, anyone catch that Inception was just a bit of an expansion of the idea created in "Dreamscape"?
okieeagle writes:
on December 28th, 2010 at 1:13:22 AM

Oh, and finally. Two reasons "Inception" was so successful. DeCaprio, the biggest reason. And the myriad personal subplots that everyone with half a brain was injecting into the movie. BTW, it was Mal who planted the idea to begin with!! Remember who's totem was in her safe!
