Colin Farrell in Talks for "Total Recall" Remake

Colin Farrell in Talks for "Total Recall" RemakeSubmit Comment
Over a year ago, it was announced that Kurt Wimmer (The Thomas Crown Affair, Law Abiding Citizen) was hired to write a new version of "Total Recall" for Columbia Pictures.

THR is now reporting that three actors are being considered for the lead role, previously played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Colin Farrell is at the top of the list, which also includes Tom Hardy (Inception) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds).

Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) is set to direct the new film, with plans to begin shooting in late March. It's still unclear how the remake will be different, but apparently, the lead character won't be heading to Mars. Neal Moritz previously stated: "You know, in the last movie he goes to Mars and we're not doing that. We're not going to go to Mars."

The original, based on the Philip K. Dick story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," follows a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air.

Well, after having a bar fight and downing all the Guiness on Mars, you know Colin's character will f*ck the green off the three titted hooker ....

Johnny Cab, my ass. He'll need more of a Johnnie Cap for his Irish c*ck.

Rename this movie, don't call this Total Recall.

Tom Hardy all the way for the lead role,Michael Fassbender I don't think would suit it. Colin Farrell get's on my nerves no matter what film he's in, I hate the guy, so overrated.

Tom Hardy is a really good actor, if anyone can do it he can. Bronson and Inception were good movies and he done well in both.

Max I think he would f*ck the midget as well, maybe a threesome.

Fassbender should go straight to Quentin's house and start washing the dishes and gettin him beers.

Why not ? I'm sure the dwarf's a 'spinner' who loves c*ck up the ass. Then he can dress the dwarf up as a gimp ... teach him how to play "Snozzages " with her *sshole, eating it out like the third actress from The Human Centipede, then begin to toss the dwarf like a life-sized garden gnome .... playing horseshoes with some other drunken sod (using the dwarf).

wasn't going to mars part of the original story? or was that just added?...either way the original one had an excellent cast all around...'hey benny, scccccrrrruuuuuuu yuuuuuuu!!!!'...after everybody has watched the one with arnold, how do you expect the fans to like this one better hollywood???...one of the reasons i bought the damn movie, it was damn good...i don't see a remake being better at all
synthetic1985 writes:

^ what's ironic is that even the original had cgi in it, at least for the metal detector part...i'm just thankful that puppeteer stuff isn't a dead thing in cinema...and one of the things i appreciate about puppeteer work is that many many people worked really hard to pull off believable scenes...they didn't sit on their ass and use cgi all the time...screw this remake
synthetic1985 writes:

someone else here said this before 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it. a lesson hollywood has yet to learn'...apparantly it's worse than telling a child the same thing over and over...this is one movie that should be boycotted instead of the hobbit

come on guys give collin a break! god knows his has done some BAD movie choices but it think he is talented enough to play this part if he just remembers to sober up and start acting....BTW phonebooth was a great movie and a great start for farrell even though it has been pretty much downhill ever since...this movie could be his chance to get back in the game...and i think he deserves it.....

Colin Farrell is a f*cking p*ssy. He is the kind of guy that tries to act tough but when things turn physical and he takes his first hit he's crying like a bitch. Take the example of the fan that jumped in the car with him while he was filming a movie and he about wet himself because she wanted him to f*ck her, What a douche bag and p*ssy he is!
