Guillermo Del Toro to Turn "Alma" Short into Feature FilmSubmit Comment
THR is reporting that Rodrigo Blaas is in negotiations to make his feature directorial debut on "Alma," based on his award-winning short. The project is being developed by DreamWorks Animation and executive produced by Guillermo Del Toro.

Blaas has worked as an animator on a slew of Pixar movies ranging from "Finding Nemo" to "Up" to several of its shorts. He will write and direct the movie.

"Alma" centers on a young girl who gets lured into an enchanted toy store, drawn in by its beautiful collection of dolls, including one that looks just like her. She discovers only too late that the shop is nefariously intent on adding her to its permanent collection.

Really liked it. I can see that Del Toro is intressed in this guy. I just hope that they don't try to make a feature of this short.

When the f*ck is he ever going to schedule this in the number of movies he's tied to in name and the number of movies he's getting out of ?

A child's story based on the f*cking movie Manniquin ? What the f*ck ?

Andrew McCarthy must be really f*cking pissed off at the moment, munching into his Krispy Cremes.

@Freudian

First, awesome avatar ... reminds me of Deux Machina ...

They will probably make a feature film of this, like they did with Caroline & the remake of Charlotte's Web, with that f*cking retard of an actress, Miley Cyrus .... I mean
Dakota Fanning.

This clip is creepy. It's creepier still because it's been done all 'cutesy' with the animation. It wouldn't take much to turn this into a proper horror/suspense film, and putting Del Toro at the helm would certainly point it in that direction

Using the Up-style music at the end didn't sound right, he should have used Saw's "twist" music (I think it's called Hello Zepp) or something similar.
