M. Night Shyamalan to Direct "One Thousand AE," Starring Jaden SmithSubmit Comment
M Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, The Last Airbender) is putting together his next directorial effort which will team him with Will Smith. The project is a sci-fi movie called "One Thousand AE."

It is being developed at Overbrook, the production company ran by Smith. Unlike many of his other projects, "AE" will not be written by Shyamalan. Instead, Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli) has been brought on to pen the script.

The story is being kept a secret, but it is known that "AE" is being developed as a vehicle for Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid), Will Smith's son. There is a starring role for an adult male, but sources say that Will is not interested in taking it.

"AE" has nothing to do with an untitled project that Shyamalan shopped around in June. It had Bruce Willis, Bradley Cooper and Gwyneth Paltrow attached, but never found a buyer. Cooper was set to play a father on a desperate search for his missing child and makes use of supernatural powers to help him with the search.

I smell Oscars coming their way...or it could be something else I'm smelling.

I know I've said this before, but is Will that desperate to make him a star.

Don't we have a say in this?
Do we want him to be a star?

@Rambo
you don't need a sniper, just get him Justin Beaver and you get a new strain of AIDS

@ DaveThePhotoGuy...i was just thinking the same thing...if i ever was a star, the least i could do is let people decide what my child[ren] would be ok to star in, even though i have no children...for example, if studios wanted one of my kids to star in films like the karate kid remake, i would've said no from the get go...will smith should've known better than that since he's been on the good side of fans for quite some time and then pulled a stunt like that

Talk about curlingparents. Producing movies just so your son can star in it.

the only vehicle Jaden should be is in one of those test ones they run into a wall with crash test dummies.

this is what happens when you're famous in hollywood and have kids...i mean, nobody took nicole ritchie lightly just because of her dad...same deal with jaden smith...he's jaden smith, not will smith...let's keep it that way will

How does he keep getting jobs? Actually, I'm talking about both of them! It'll be interesting to see two careers going down in flames. Devil completely killed my interest in Shyamalan forever.

@Man In Black

He needs to take that spoon, cook up heroin and shoot up.

Then we'll respect him.
