Vatican Says "The Simpsons" Family is Catholic, Producer Disagrees

Vatican Says "The Simpsons" Family is Catholic, Producer DisagreesSubmit Comment
Apparently the Vatican watches "The Simpsons" and has now declared in the official Vatican newspaper that Homer and Bart are Catholics, and is encouraging parents to let their children watch the show.

"Few people know it, and he does everything to hide it. But it's true: Homer J. Simpson is Catholic," the Vatican stated. "The family recites prayers together before meals and, in its own way, believes in heaven."

But "The Simpsons" executive producer Al Jean is baffled by this since the family attends the First Church of Springfield which is Presbylutheran. "We've pretty clearly shown that Homer is not Catholic," he said. "I really don't think he could go without eating meat on Fridays - for even an hour."

The Catholic Church has a lot more serious things to worry about then the relgious implications of the Simpsons :

Like VinDandy, their poster child for pedophelia and also probably necrophilia ... the freakin' douche

More evidence that the Vatican is a cult leader that's drinking it's own kool-aid.

There's been about, from what I can recall, 16 episodes where they say they're protestant.

@Max

or
-Spreading mis-information about Condoms
-Demonizing abortions
-Giving sanctuary to kiddy-diddling priests
-Much rather help save the souls of priests, than rehabilitate or compensate the children who were raped by said priests, since all the church cares about is maintaining it's image.
-Thinking of how to protect the pope from being arrested for aiding and abetting criminals

Wasn't Liam Neeson a catholic priest in the episode explicably stating how they aren't?

Monash

He did ...

That was also the episode his Character Father Sean said You wanker ...

That musta been hard for the Vatican to take their mouths off of the alter boys nuts and comment on that.

The Vatican tries to connect with the cool kids by endorsing their favourite shows. Too bad for them that they're a couple of years late.
Matiax writes:

Someone should show them the episode "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Guest Star", season 16. Is the one that Monash said.

the Vatican Church is built on lies. Calling them liars is like accusing Mike Tyson of being black.

And they also haven't aged in 20 years. Vatican idiots.

hmm how bout the biggest evidence in Kidney Trouble:
Marge: Aren't you going to perform the last rites?
Rev. Lovejoy: That's Catholic, Marge. You might as well ask me to perform a voodoo dance.

If the Catholic church is encouraging you to watch the The Simpsons, then I think Fox should just cancel the show as this is evidence that it is no longer funny.

Notice that they aren't asking parents let their kids watch Family Guy.

i wonder if how many people would jump if the vaticans said 'God said you should jump off a cliff'...i also heard that the pope is going to study with astronomers...isn't that against their religion?
