"Hellraiser" Remake Gets Director and Female Lead?

"Hellraiser" Remake Gets Director and Female Lead?Submit Comment
While we've been waiting for a remake of "Hellraiser," just recently it was announced that another low-budget sequel was greenlit. There is absolutely nothing interesting about the new film, but that's because The Weinstein Company is developing it simply to retain the rights to the franchise.

Bloody-Disgusting has now learned that the studio is still looking to make a quality, big-budget "Hellraiser" movie in the form of a remake and it is currently speaking to Christian E. Christiansen (The Roommate) to direct.

The goal is to make the film more teen-friendly and aim for a PG-13 rating. And to get young boys into the theaters, the studio is also in talks with Amber Heard (Zombieland) for the lead role.

And yet because of the graphic violent reputation of the past movies, parents won't let there young boys see that even if it's PG-13, so that's not a good strategy.

PG-13? Stop pissing on everythin that is good you Hollywoodbastards! Just look at Pinhead, you f*cking imbecills. Does his face scream "PG-13" to you? He's the advocate of suffering and torture, he rips your soul apart (literally). He was never intended to be entertaining some kids.

f*ck you, Harvey Weinstein, f*ck you.
Kurskij writes:

You don't get it, Freudian. He's just a misunderstood dude with problematic skin... And we live in tolerant times, do we?

"Pinhead toy - a perfect gift to Lil' Jimmy for Christmas" - "Hellraiser for kids - kill your parrot with a chainsaw!"

Reboot, Remake: The easiest way to bastardize a legacy and make ca$h off teen audiences.

On another note, how f*cking awful is "The Crow" going to be? Twilight ripoff, I can guarantee it!

... the 'Jesus Wept' Scene from the original can NOT be dumbed down to a bullsh*t PG13 scene in which there are rainbows and unicorns...
what the hell are they thinking!?!

If you wanna get young boys in to the cinema, start production on Jackass 4.

Che,jake ,Jeffrey Jones

Can you help the Weinstein's to get young boys into the theaters so they don't have to make a PG-13 version of Hellraiser.

Hellraiser is one of the gruesome movies I have ever seen and that was when it was edited for television! I can't possibly imagine how they can make that into a PG-13 flick! :O

Pinhead and his crew are heading to tween terriory with a PG 13 rating ? Wow, they obviously never read Clive Barker's books and seen the original HORROR movie Hellraiser ... in the new one, I suppose Pinhead will be throwing muffins at the showering tweens in slow motion, while they get some band ... oh, say Oh!3Oh! or someone to create a mosh/rap/emo song to fill in the carnage ....

This is so an Epic Fail that I'm surprised Clive isn't planning to sue.

First the Alien Prequels and now Hellraiser........wow, are the studios out of their f*cking minds???

Who would go see a Hellraiser movie if it wasn't totally f*cked up and demented beyond belief (aka hardcore, gruesome R-rated)????

Talk about setting themselves up to fail!!! f*cking idiots.

markoz writes:

Instead of making ''Impossible to rate because those people were too terrified and were puking to hard to rate'' they are making it PG-13?I am pretty sure it's che's fault...it does say that they wanna attract young boys

I understand why Hollywood is making the Horror movie . I have a younger sister who cant watch the older horror movies because they are boring to her. she assumes that because it was made in the 80's or early 90's that it will be a sh*tty movie. So Hollywood wants to make the movies for the new generation. I didn't like most of the remakes and the way they are describing what they want to do with Hellraiser is horrible. At least the Nightmare on Elm Street remake they tried to stay true to the original.
Kindlegolas writes:

You give Amber Heard's biggest film credit as Zombieland and not something that she actually stared in? and not just a 30 second cameo

You won't be able to see her without a top if its gonna be PG-13. And I bet their gonna go the annoying jumps way, what is wrong with the world?
synthetic1985 writes:

^ agreed with pretty much every post...hellraiser was never meant to be 'teen friendly'...and how low is that these people in hollywood who have COLLEGE degrees are sinking lower than a fresh turd down the toilet drain?...these people must be worse than all the perverts and pedophiles and homos and just plain nasty people in the world combined if there's even such a word for that...i know hollywood is all about making money more than quality films...but honestly, let's see if we can get a huge negative reaction from fans everywhere so that it doesn't get made...it worked for 50 cent on the expendables
jigsaw23 writes:

they should look at clive barkers twitter page to know it is a mistake and listen to the fans of the originals

Why is anyone surprised about a PG-13 rating? it's not about the art or the craft or Clive Barker, it's about $$$$$.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

They are looking to pussify Clive Barker.

DaveThePhotoGuy writes:

I was sort of ok with this story until....

"The goal is to make the film more teen-friendly and aim for a PG-13 rating. And to get young boys into the theaters, the studio is also in talks with Amber Heard (Zombieland) for the lead role"...

and I could comment but I could never top the stupidity of that statment.
