M. Night Shyamalan Was Offered "Superman" and "Batman" Reboots

M. Night Shyamalan Was Offered "Superman" and "Batman" RebootsSubmit Comment
Before Christopher Nolan directed "Batman Begins" and before Bryan Singer directed "Superman Returns," Warner Bros was looking for helmers to bring these iconic characters to the big screen.

One of the directors the studio went to was M. Night Shyamalan, who was just coming off his massive hit "The Sixth Sense." "I had conversations with Warner Bros about 'Superman' and 'Batman,'" Shyamalan told MTV.

He added that all that thinking about comic books got him excited about making an original superhero movie. "If they haven't called, I probably wouldn't have done 'Unbreakable,'" Shyamalan explained. "It was thinking about 'Superman' and 'Batman,' and how I would do it."

He f*cked Airbender even though it had a near perfect source material, the effects were great and the casting wasn't terrible.
He tried to Zack Snyder the fight scenes when they would have been better in real time and some fight scenes just zoomed in on the upper body were you couldn't see who was attacking them or how they were fighting back.
Stick to thrillers

I did this. I traveled back in time and saved the world from falling into M NightS.

Unfotunately, there was nothing I could have done about 2012...

yikes...can you imagine heath's performance in the dark knight if m. night was directing?...i can't, because it wouldn't have been heath playing the joker...credit goes to chris nolan for picking heath and proving lots of audiences wrong about his incredible dedication to talent and acting...on another note, i'd like to see m. night make a new original thriller for a change...one that relates to the sixth sense or unbreakable...signs was crap, and the village was sh*t...when i saw those red monsters...i thought i was watching a college student's project...plus the reason the sixth sense had good scary moments was because it was about ghosts...i remember critics saying not to watch signs alone...off topic, one of my friends said something pretty interesting, how can the social network be movie of the year when there's another one already?...proof that hollywood is retarded

So, if he directed TDK, Health Ledger would probably still be alive. Only problem with that is, most people wouldn't give a sh*t, since the only thing they liked him in WAS TDK. Very interesting.

even Shaymalan would have made a better superman then the horrific 'superman returns'
synthetic1985 writes:

^ very true statement...whose idea was it to turn superman into a p*ssy father anyway?...he finds out he has a son but has to deal with some other guy having more control of his kid's life and f*cking his lois in her wide lane
synthetic1985 writes:
on October 16th, 2010 at 6:13:09 AM

i guess in that director's universe, i could see why superman didn't want to touch lois with a 1000 foot pole...man that's pretty wide

I actually watched Unbreakable the other night on AMC... what a smashing film. Shame this guy has seemingly lost his touch.

M. Night Shyamalan Was Offered "Superman" and "Batman" Reboots

At this point in his f*cking downward spiral of a career, I wouldn't trust M. Night Shyamalamadingdong to direct the "Archie from Riverdale" big screen adaptation, much less Batman or Superman.

He needs to take some of that "Sixth Sense" money and take a vacation ...

hey, it worked for Robert Downey Jr., M. Nightlight ...

@eViL.kEv2

Yeah, because M. Night would courted Joseph Gordon Levitt to do the Joker (based on Joe's parts he's taken lately and his film selection) ... and Heath would've probably opted to try out for ... wacky as this hypothetical will sound, since I am blinking on 1/2 cup of Hazelnut coffee and 1/8th adrenachrome .... Murdock from The A*Team movie ?

How the movie world would have been different if this actually happened. Wow. The Batman franchise would be dead and gone for good.
